I don't have a problem creating my own unique names, personally. My Minecraft names are usually complete nonsense that almost sounds real. For instance, my current world is named Elcionne, which is something that took me all of 10 seconds to create.
You could also leave it blank and rename it based on some important aspect of your world. For example, if your main base is a mega-castle, you could call the world "The Keep." You could even incorporate your name. Since your Forum name is AstralMagic, maybe you could go with something like "The Astral Realm" or "Astria". I've used similar methods in my personal projects- one of my major planets is named Akkyn after the queen of its first settlers.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
Sounds like a good way to keep everything in order. I'm going to start naming my disposable worlds in this format. What I've been doing until now is discarding them asap to avoid clutter, but that shouldn't be a problem with tidy names like those.
I did not remember FNG. It really is an awesome site.
Wish I could name worlds as well as you. "Elcionne", "Astria", and "Akkyn" all sound hella cool. I can spend hours trying to come up with cool names like those with no success.
P.S.
I like to have my world name and world seed be the same. Went with Astria and found diamonds in a village chest just a few steps away from spawn.
I generally name mine after the mod I use, such as TMCWv4 for the world I'm currently playing on as that is the name of the mod (technically, TMCWv4.5 now), which I also used for the seed; the main exception is my first world, which I named World1 (the worlds named World1v2, etc reused the same seed but with modifications to world generation; World1v3 could have also been called DoubleHeightTerrain, the name of the mod I used):
I find it useful to name worlds after a prominent feature in the world, so I recognize the world from the name, even if I haven't played on it for a while. This means that I always end up changing the initial name of the world and giving it a descriptive name once I decide to keep it.

I want to start a new world to finally have a go at the nether update but I'm having a hard time coming up with a name. Any suggestions?
Also, what are some of your world names? Seen many interesting ones in some older threads.
It all depends on me, sometimes I just use "world" sometimes I name it based off what the map will be. I also name it after the world generation i use
Nothing can go here but time itself.
I use the same method for every world I create.
YYYY/MMM/DD Version.
2020Jun13 1.12.2
If I updated I'd create a copy so I can always return to the previous version (2020Jun13 1.12.2).
Then rename one of them 2020Jun13 1.13.2 and play that as an updated world etc.

You could look for a world name generator. Something like this one.

Using simple names would probably be the smart thing to do. Maybe my problem is that I try to come up with something fancy for every world I make.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

do what i do and smash the keyboard + vague description
As I usually start a world because of a version update, the name is normally world type+ version.
I.e.
Survival_15.2
If world was created for some purpose (i.e. creative for redstone designs testing)
Redstone_14.4
Or a snapshot preview
Preview_16
If it uses a major world-changing mod (i.e. AbyssalCraft)
Abyss_12.1
Since you want to explore the Nether, call it something about the Nether so you know that's why you made this world.
"1.16 first", "Nether say Nether", "Here comes the poglin", "Gha-choo", "A new dawn of the skyless", etc.
This.
To be fair, I am a worldbuilding nut. I've spent so long coming up with names that it comes naturally.
I'm honored to have been chosen!
