Near the beginning of my world, I found a village. It only had the one initial iron golem. Even as I traded with them 200+ days later, resulting in at least eight Master villagers, only the lone patrolled.
Well, I recently returned with intents to finally renovate it and slowly transform it into a proper trading port. I spent about three days (sleeping through nights) constructing a massive farm for trading and breeding purposes. I then began working on a building I plan on holding my four farmer villagers in.
About five days after returning to the village, I noticed another golem spawned. About two seconds later, I saw two more. So I climbed up, and...
That's not including one that was hiding behind the closest larger house. My only villager interaction since I landed was drowning a Nitwit. The villagers must have a secret love for iron golems if they spawned five more in one day.
Now if only I could secretly kill some...

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
I have villages with loads of golems and some with hardly any. Since my villages are all well-lit and fenced in, I suspect that the ones with loads of golems are ones that have mobs nearby, eg in caves under the village. Can anyone confirm that this plays a role?
@JustJum I always wonder, why those golems walk away so far from the village. They are supposed to protect the villagers. Instead they wander around, having a jolly good time. That's a thing that puzzles me as much as, that villagers and pet animals seem to have suicidal tendencies. They use each and every opportunity to get hurt or killed.
