I made a librarian and leveled him up to master, now I can no longer change his profession the normal way by just removing the lecturn and placing another profession block. I asked my friend, he said there was a way to do it, but I was better of just getting a new villager. I never got to ask him how before he left. So anyone know how you change the profession of a villager after it has hit level "master"? I'm trying to turn him into something else and then back to a librarian so I can possibly get my hands on mending.
You use nbt commands (the command system used in command blocks and in chat). Point your cursor and the villager and do the necessary command-work and the villager info can be changed. If you're using commands, though, you might as well just summon a villager with the trades you want.
If you cannot or will not use NBT commands, then you just don't. That villager will forever be that profession even in the absence of the proper workstation (the workstation will still be required to restock trades, though).
Beyond the accessibility of NBT commands and/or the addition of plugins that change how villagers work, nothing changes in terms of being on a server.
Letting a zombie convert him to a zombie villager will allow you to re-cure and start him over. That is, if the zombie doesn't just kill him which happens a certain percentage of the time.
Found out my friend meant something else. Reading your supplies I decided to just chop the villager into mush and get a new one. Thx for the suggestions though ^-^

Villagers will get real ticked at you if you kill one. You can release him to let a zombie kill him ir maybe pour lava near him without getting them so mad.

Oh it's alright, already killed him long ago, and another one after that after I accidentally forgot I wasn't supposed to trade with him. My only other villager has calmed down since then. Oh and also I got a much better one, made a post about it on Reddit.

If it changes anything, this is on a server.
I'm kinda gay
