Hey everyone! So I recently tried making my own fish farm and I have a problem :/ When I right click on my fishing rod, it keeps being thrown in and out rather than bobbing in the water like it's supposed to (i've watched multiple youtube videos) I am on the most recent 1.15.1 and the video is on 1.15 soooo ? I've attached a screenshot. It's the most basic fish farm ever
Without seeing it completely, it looks similar to my fish farm or some other versions that are very close. Try some slight variations to how close you're standing and also your aim. These types of fishing farms usually prefer being aimed directly at the front edge of the trap door, not the top and can give inconsistent results if you stand too close or too far away. Once you get if figured out, it's easy to repeat and you shouldn't have a problem.
One thing...I built mine in 1.14.4 and have not tried it since my Realms migrated to 1.15.1 so that could be an issue that I haven't experienced yet and YMMV.

I did try my fish farm on 1.15.1 and it seems to be working fine. Try those tips I told you and let us know how it works.
I'm still in 1.14 so can;t say if it's same in 1.15 but have found that standing too close totally kills the farm as does too far back.
I hold down right mouse button with a strong rubber-band, I clear slots 3-5 in inventory and select 4, then after pressing the button and applying the rubberband, I set the mouse down, locate the cursor where I want it and then press the correct number to select my rod.

GeoFor and I are in agreement...the distance you stand makes a big difference.
I got a good trick for you instead of the rubber band...just go into options - controls and switch your spacebar and right mouse controls. Just set something on your spacebar (like a stapler or paperweight) and that's it. A lot quicker than resting stuff on your mouse or having to wind a rubber band around it.

You have to hold down right-click, I suggest taping it down if you wanna afk.
