Hi... new here. I've built a villager trading hall (youtube/logicalgeekboy), and want to use the cured villager zombie method for reducing the cost of trades. However, whenever I place a zombie in contact with a villager, the villager is actually killed not turned into a zombie villager. I've lost 20+ villagers this way. I've been successful in getting a zombified villager 4 times which were subsequently killed by a zombie when I tried a second round.
Every video on youtube seems to indicate that it's fairly straight forward... haven't found anyone even hinting that this should be a problem. Google has not been kind to me and wasn't able to find anything on the forum either. Anyone have an idea what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks. Interesting idea. I know I'm on normal mode, but I'll do some testing and report back what i find. It'll take a while to breed up a bunch of villagers.

It depends on the hardness setting you play at, At the 'Normal' playing setting about half will die, On hardcore all die.

GeoFor... So I had a chance to test this and my results don't align with your statement for Hard mode but does for Normal mode. I'm on 1.14.4.
On Hard mode there were 55 villagers converted to zombies and 5 deaths out of 60 total attempts.
On Normal it was 23 conversions, and 27 deaths out of 60.
On Easy it was 60 deaths out of 60.
This does kind of align with my previous attempts in Normal mode, so case closed. Thanks for pointing me in this direction.
