I built my Slime farm, a simple one at my nearest slime chunk (from my house), and is not working, I mean, Ive been afk waiting for so long and no slimes have appeared. I already lighted up around my slime chunk, every cave and all of that. My afk spot is 30 blocks away from the farm, but still doesnt work. I dont have any idea of whats going on then so if you can help me Id be so gratefull
What is the version of Minecraft you playing?
Is it vanilla, or modded?
What is your difficulty mode?
What amount of time did you spend afk-ing?
What kind of farm design you are using?
There's some reasons, that can kill your farm.
1)The ceiling above your spawning platform need to be at least 3 blocks height.
2) check the light level inside your farm, slimes can spawn in any light level (if this is a slime chunk). Ideally > 7
3) you can find the list of non-spawnable blocks and items placed. Of course if you are using these types of blocks, your spawning platform won't be work.
4) Optimal "Y" level for your spawning platform is Y = 7(it's like minimal for convenience). Ideally it need to be built as low as possible. (because of spawn mechanics)
so if it is 7 or about so, then this is not the reason of your farm is not working.
5) try afk in different spots. Your most distant afk spot can be 128 blocks away from spawning platform(and at least 24). maybe your 30 blocks away spot is in some bad conditions for game to count this mob spawning chanses/mechanics. If it's even in right distance.
6) Also check one more time if this is actually a slime chunk. Try a different method to check it.
7) Maybe the problem is in your item collection system, or slime killing setup. So maybe slimes are spawning, but you don't even notice this.
Maybe it'll help. Btw sorry for my bad English, i hope all of this was understandable.
Did you make sure you were within the Y cords? Slime chucks you need to be below layer 40 regardless of light levels, bestspawn rates under light level of 7. They can also spawn in swamp biomes between layers 50 and 70 in light levels of 7 or less.
slime chunk slimes spawn in any light level, whereas other hostile mobs (creepers, skeletons, zombies, witches, endermen) spawn in light levels of 7 or less. This means that keeping the slime farm dark worsens the spawn rates because the spawns get taken up by non-slimes. Light it up, and light up at least 8 chunks outwards in all directions.
4) Optimal "Y" level for your spawning platform is Y = 7(it's like minimal for convenience). Ideally it need to be built as low as possible. (because of spawn mechanics)
so if it is 7 or about so, then this is not the reason of your farm is not working.
I think that only helps if you remove all solid blocks above that. (Just in the same chunk.)
It's not the height of the spawning platform per se, it's the height of the highest solid block in the chunk that matters.
And that's just for optimat performance, you should still be getting spawns as long as the spawning platform is below level 40.

Can you provide the seed, coordinates and platform you are on?
Also, what level did you build the slime farm on?

We're all a little crazy. I just don't hide it...

Just testing.
