I paid another visit to the Nether and ended up with a result I never could have imagined.
Three Wither Skeleton Skulls, all in under an hour. Yes, I have Looting 3. Still, I probably only killed thirty before finding them. With these three skulls, I can leave the one in my treasure chest alone for decoration.
Go figure. I spend so long recovering from the Dragon fight, and not even fifty days later, I have to fight the greatest threat to the Minecraft world. And for my Advancement pack, I have to slay it no less than 64 times, 10 of which have to be within 128 blocks of each other at the same time.
I guess my next step is finding a suitable place for my fight and filling it with chickens. I want those Wither Roses.

Nice, I agree that Withers are a far more destructive threat, and in many ways are a much more difficult fight than the Ender dragon. Have fun with killing ten at once. I did four with a limited number of potions, and already that was a doozy.

I've been building a lot of automated farms for resources. Currently working on a skeleton farm and automatic tree farm. Also been building my own village for enchanted books and such.

I'm dreading the 10 at once. My Wither fight ended abruptly when I died from the Wither effect, all my stuff somehow despawned underwater immediately, and the Wither somehow managed to trap itself below the world something like ten chunks away. I had to use console commands to undo everything. Although technically, the advancement (it's Blazeandcave's if anybody is wondering) only requires 10 Withers to be alive within 128 blocks at the same time. I don't have to finish killing them all. So I'll likely fly a very long way away, spawn them, then bolt.
No, the REALLY fun advancement will be "Dragon vs. Dragon II", AKA killing the Ender Dragon while wearing a Dragon Head and not touching the ground. Either I get VERY lucky with water or I'm forced to wear an Elytra and rely on only leggings and boots for actual armor.
Current goals aside from laying floors in the hotel apartments at the Chunk Plaza Development (A large, long chunk error wall converted into apartments, an inn/pub, McDunkies fast food restaurant and hotel) are as follows:
Right now I'm at 27/28 xp and I'm trying to get my levels up to 33 to put an enchant on a sword. A few weeks ago I did something very stupid in a panic moment with a creeper and accidentally threw my sword at it, subsequently I lost my best sword. I have a basic Looting III, Smite IV and Mending sword right now but I miss my knockback!
Just now I also went to my main mob grinder at the lowest lava lake floor of my home-in-a-mountain and did some routine maintenance. It's only been years since I went up there to check on the platforms! I did something however I should've done a very long time ago and change the floors of the water pathways to the center - to ice.
Also checked the slime farm whilst I was there, only recently I improved the collection and rail system and used a beacon to clear out the rest of the platforms and sides above. It's a lot more efficient now - I had almost two rows of a double chest of slime balls.

Now wait just a moment... does changing them to ice speed up the movement of the mobs? Clearly I've never played with the interactions between water and ice (I live under a small rock). That will be very useful for me as well.

Today I discovered the joy that is TNT and started my next big project. The mansion spawned with hills around it, meaning it's way up in the air when you take the hills away. I plan to add 2, maybe 3 floors, underneath once I clear the hills. I think I'm going to change where the front of the mansion is too and have it open up towards the nearby swamp. One big hill down, one more to go.

Not even water transport using ice paths and water?
I don't have any facts, but when transporting items it's fast, so I'm just working on the theory when they step of platforms onto the waterways (With ice floors) they'll go quicker. More so with blue ice.

I designed a little setup to test this out, and from what I can tell, ice has no effect on the speed of mobs in water currents. I spawned four zombies using command blocks and gave them max slowness, then left them to drift in a waterway containing a floor of either stone or one of the three types of harvestable ice (no frosted). The water pushes them into a lava hole. From what I can tell after dozens of attempts, if there is a difference, it's very negligible.

Very interesting...
Leangreen, haha, I had a look back and realized that I have used ice/water to make an item sorter in the past. My god, that was years ago. I must have forgotten. In either case, blue ice is new to me. Would that work faster than packed ice, I presume? I have read that the block is used with boats to make fast transportation, but I haven't looked into the mechanics of that, or if it works with mobs.

I did have blue ice in one of my nether tunnels - to the 1.13 chunk and it was very fast by boat!

I just finished my mushroom house! I'm building a mushroom town on my server with some friends, and I wanted to make a mushroom made of mushroom. A lot of silk touch went into this one.
On The Blocky Server, I stumbled across a triple-dungeon setup (two skeleton, one zombie), which I would have never expected to find anywhere, ever. So I made the most of it and turned it into a big XP/loot farm.

So I've been exploring parts of my world in order to get as much terrain mapped in JourneyMap as possible. I went around 11,000 meters west (the center of my base is at x=1246, z=173). I started at x=-10,000, going from z=-5000 to z=5000 (later 6000), doing a grid pattern every 150 meters, which allows for full mapping in JourneyMap (the mapping area is a 10 chunk square centered on the player's current position).
I'm now at about x=-5100 and z=-1700, in the middle of a tropical rainforest, a biome added by Biomes O' Plenty. Along the way, I've encountered many Astral Sorcery shrines, the desert and mountain/cold variants, and the Small Shrines, Infested Greatwood trees from Thaumcraft (these have a Cave Spider spawner with a loot chest under them, and have cobwebs on them), several Ocean Monuments, a few Desert Temples, and a Jungle Temple as well as several villages.
I keep a bed with me on my hotbar; I also have with me my Satchel, Transmutation Tablet, Ender Pouch, an Evertide Amulet so I can walk on water, Baguettes from Actually Additions, as well as my pickaxe, sword and bow. I usually get about 3/4 of the way through each N-S traverse of the grid before I have to stop and sleep for the night. If it is close to dark and I am going to be on the ocean, I will place the bed before going on the water, and wait until night (18:32).
I have encountered some mobs along the way, and the rarest of those has been a single Basalz from Thermal Expansion. It was encountered during the day time in an extreme hills biome. The next rarest has been the Lesser Crimson Portal from Thaumcraft. These will spawn Crimson Knights and Clerics, and are a good place to farm for the Crimson Rites book if you do not have it yet. I have encountered perhaps 6 or so of these; while they are quite resistant to melee damage (my Draconic Sword does 64, and it takes around 2-3 hits to kill one), but weak to ranged damage - I can one shot them with the Draconic Bow.
Throughout the world are random Forestry trees. There is also a house in some villages using Forestry woods, some of which are fireproof. I have captured 3 Forestry Villagers (2 Apiarists and an Arborist) and brought them back to the village inside my base walls. I've been using JourneyMap to set waypoints, then teleporting home to drop off things like bees and combs I've picked up. Most of the trees I already have wood for, but in addition, I have been buying saplings from any Arborists I encounter.
One of my favorite Forestry woods is Greenheart. I like using the stairs for roofs on my houses, and have done so since 1.6.4. Today is the first time I have encountered the tree that produces this type of wood in the wild. It is called a Sipiri tree, and is almost as tall as a jungle tree. I got 2 saplings from it, so now I have a sustainable source of the wood (without having to use the Transmutation Tablet). And just a chunk or so north of the Sipiri tree, I found both a Wenge (produces a medium-dark gray wood), and a Mahogany tree. I got some saplings from both. While Forestry saplings do not crash the game like they did with the 1.7.10 version when put into a Transmutation Table/Tablet, they aren't recognized by it and do not appear in the learned saplings. Instead I am sending all of them home to my Refined Storage system.
I've done so much mapping that I have gained another Astral Sorcery Perk Point. I am not sure what I want to use it on. I am thinking of continuing along the Discidia tree and getting either +10% melee or +10% ranged damage.
Edit: I found another Jungle Temple, and there was a Sipiri sapling in one of the chests. I also found another Sipiri tree a little further south. Here is what it looks like:
It stood out as it was taller than the surrounding trees. And since the last post, I found another Jungle Temple in addition to the one containing the sapling.
In Quintropolis, I finally addressed a longstanding problem with my main base (Starlight): the combat arsenal. I have not updated it since Minecraft 1.8, and as we all know, plenty of new gear has been added since then. I added storage for all these new items (tridents, crossbows, tipped arrows, etc.), and other things, but I think the most noteworthy addition is the Enchanted Library - I now have sorted all my books by enchantment. This is a blessing, because I have hundreds of them. Check it out:
All books with multiple enchantments go here (they aren't as common as you might think):
Now to deliberate how Soul Speed is going to fit in there...

After having constructed a Mumbo Jumbo Potion Brewer (my 5th 😊 ), adjustable Enchanting Table and an Armoury area at my Nether Castle base, and adding some beacons at key points in the castle, I decided to build a portal direct to the overworld, rather than travel back to my nearest base for resources. This was always something I envisaged, to have a small overworld outpost as a kind of direct Annex to the Nether Castle, for some farms and such that require water, and some crop & passive mob pens.
I put down the portal in the Nether and went through … ended up in a Plains biome with desert on three sides and the odd savannah, and oceans mainly to the east. I’d also always intended to bring some villagers from my nearest overworld base to the castle for a kind of Nether village, and whilst levelling the plains area around the portal, I located a village a few hundred blocks North from the portal, which I visited and tweaked to make it secure. Whilst rounding up and testing some horses I found in the plains biome, I found a 2nd and a 3rd village to the south, and upon visiting the 3rd, found a 4th village just west from that, all within a radius of 250-500 blocks from the portal. This can be seen on the Minutor screenshot below. My intention is not to explore too far at this point, but I did go to each village and terraform any offending areas (some were pretty poor layouts). The 3rd village was the most interesting as part of it was in a river, and there was a large open ravine on one side, into which one of the houses has been positioned – and the house was occupied! After demolishing it, the villager went down a water stream as I was trying to get him to go up some steps I’d made, and ended up on the ravine floor, so I left him down there with his own little “house” in the ravine wall.
I spent a lot of my time at the 1st village, trying to get some decent Librarians, but of the 13 white coats that either were bred, or were zombie villagers that were cured by me, 11 of them were cartographers … and that’s 10 too many! Still one of the Librarians offered Channelling at 6 emeralds and Riptide III at 16 emeralds so not a bad start … planning the overworld outpost itself next …
I also did some extensive mining trips. Found quite a few bits to explore and resources to gather, picked up quite a few stacks of coal, ended up with something like 9000+ pieces … and finally, whilst journeying between villages, found my first fossil, in an open ravine …
Brewing & Enchanting
Plains biome
Minutor view of area
Other Pics
Corralling of Horses. Found a couple of really fast ones which are now back at the Nether Castle …
Village 1 – I only kept two of the original buildings due to a poor layout, one of which I’m on the roof of, using it as my lair, and I just erected a massive housed with loads of doors to promote breeding. Not worried about aesthetics here …
Village 3 – Nice house placement!
You had the chance to join the rest, but you went swimming instead!
Village 4 – This one had the least issues, all the buildings were virtually on the same level, and had a Desert Temple in the corner to boot, partially covered in sand as was a lot of the village. I went to town on this one a bit …
My first fossil, don’t know much about these, so will excavate it to see what is supposed to be … if anything …
Back to the Nether Castle, and these are the three mob pens I’ve built. I had to convert the grass to path blocks to stop pigmen and cubes spawning, but I notice on path blocks, they don’t seem to move forwards or backwards very much, just change their angle on the spot a lot …
Finally 3 of the 4 beacon arrays, positioned in the rear and side towers. Each array can hold 4 beacons but currently only using 3 – Jump, Strength and Environmental protection. Coupled with Regen as a secondary power, I can drop into lava with my current maxed armour on and take virtually no damage it seems … not that I’ve tested it too far 😊
I have now travelled around 730,000 meters in exploring the western part of my world. And I have been finding that the Sipiri trees that you get Greenheart wood from are fairly common. I have 20 saplings from this tree, having gotten another 15 in addition to the 5 I already have.
I have been keeping all my Forestry items such as bees, saplings, combs, butterflies, serum and pollen in two large storage crates; I recently moved all of the bees into an Apiarist's Chest, which is now full. I also took all of the pollen, which had been in my Refined Storage system, and moved it into the crate with the butterflies and serum. It is time to get going with Forestry and begin breeding up bees. Gendustry is in the pack; it makes bee breeding a lot easier. There's also Binnie's Genetics - I seem to recall that the machines from this mod were expensive in terms of crafting and in power (RF) usage. So I may go with Gendustry rather than Binnie's this time. The last time I used the machines from Binnie's (then called Extra Bees) was in 1.4.7.
I also completed the Monsters Hunted challenge after looking it up and finding out that the last mob I needed to kill was a Polar Bear, not a Vex or Skeleton Horseman. So far the only place where I've seen Polar Bears has been Cold Desert biomes.
Last, I found 0,0 in my world; it is in an ocean biome.
A few screenshots from my exploration:
Lava flow on the side of an Alps Foothills biome. The reason why it is night time at 10:33 in this image is because there was a solar eclipse on that day. The Alps biomes often generate in the middle of the ocean as this one did. A few other Biomes O' Plenty biomes also sometimes generate like this.
A Mesa (Bryce) biome I encountered. This biome was renamed to Eroded Badlands after 1.12.2.
Overhangs at the edge of a Magical Forest (Thaumcraft) biome. The biome beyond I believe is Extreme Hills M (maybe Wooded Mountains after 1.12.2).
A Meneglin (Integrated Dynamics) biome. Sometimes these have cliffs and overhangs like that of the Extreme Hills biome.
The other side of the previous screenshot. The Meneglin biome in the last two images is overlapped with a Birch Forest. The lighter green in the minimap is the Meneglin, the darker green is the Birch Forest.
In all my travels, I have yet to encounter something I used to find a lot in 1.7.10: Poison Ivy. These were such a nuisance to deal with in the earlier parts of the game, and I would destroy any I came across. I have yet to encounter a single one in 1.12.2. They are listed when I check BoP in JEI.
Edit: Back in my base again, I decided to set up some Forestry machines. I made 3 Centrifuges, 3 Squeezers and 3 Carpenters. I have just encountered a problem with getting power to them - they do not accept Draconic Evolution's power transfer system, either I/O Crystals or Wireless Crystals. I am going to have to do this using an Energy Cell and Fluxducts from Thermal Expansion, or if those do not work, maybe Ender IO's Capacitor blocks and energy conduits.
I've figured it out - I did not have the Wireless Crystal linked to anything else in my base. I had planned on setting up Forestry machines in the room, but had not linked the crystal nor the Relay crystal in the same room to the rest of my network. Once I did, the Centrifuges all filled up with RF.
With my main 9 & 1/2 year old survival world, the last time I did a world download for people was back in November, and all being well I hope to release the next one sometime in early or mid June.
Currently I only have one custom tree in my world, with mixed results; but yesterday after watching one of BdoubleO100's videos from the hermitcraft series I was inspired to try some slender trees. Although I paused the video to see how he did them, I did my best to do my own version and not copy them directly.
Again very mixed results:
I carried on and did more, but even slender ones, taking into consideration what he had done coming up with a "Closed umbrella look" where they come out at different ways instead of of exactly the same all the way round. These went much better and by free-styling it I found my own niche look, i am still practicing however and still learning. I have tried to mix both oak and birch leaves together.
Just above and right of the ender chest:
The later ones are a bit more wild with growth and I may add vines, but will have to see. I would like more custom trees generally though.
At the hotel at the Chunk Plaza development, I cleared the rest of the hotel with the beacon and also thanks mainly to an upgraded efficiency IV to V pick as noted in my main thread. All 12 luxury apartments as of yesterday now have a basic birch floor and I also completed all the exterior glass works yesterday also. (Despite an abnormality on the side residential area I need to look into where half are 4 high and half are 5 high.) The top two apartments of the hotel also have a cured zombie villager in each and I have to "Cure packs" left to do more.
By release I want at least to have one showcase apartment on the hotel.

I got most of my Forestry room done, and also made all of the Gendustry machines I would be using or might eventually want to use. In addition, I taught all of the components and the upgrades that go into the Industrial Apiaries to my Refined Storage system. And I discovered that some of the products from centrifuging combs had EMC, so I taught them to the Transmutation Tablet. Honey Drops, Beeswax, Propolis, and Silky Propolis all have EMC. The last of these I got enough of to make the Apiarist's Suit, which I put on an Armor Stand in my Botania area. Since most of that area was set up for the Gaia Guardian arena and the Archangel's Smites I put on DM Pedestals for when I run the Loonium, I chose to expand my base yet again.
The Sacred Oak tree I planted in the SE part of my base is gone, and there is where I set up 4 Indsutrial Apiaries:
I am currently up to the Cultivated bees, which is the starting point for 2 important branches - the Noble and the Industrious. The former leads to Imperial bees, which have a regeneration effect when players are nearby, and produce Royal Jelly used in making Alvearies and Gendustry Production Upgrades, while Industrious bees produce Pollen Clusters, also used in Alvearies. With Gendustry, I really do not need to make one of these, and it makes the entire process of bee breeding a lot easier.
This area is outside my claimed chunks, so I put a Chunk Loader here. Industrial Apiaries require power, and since I had a Draconic Energy Relay Crystal nearby, I chose to use that power system. Of course it is considerable overkill when I could have used a couple of Wireless RF Transmitters from Extra Utilities 2. Those produce 80 RF/t, and with the Automation Upgrade (it puts the Princess and Drones back into the Apiary automatically at the end of each Queen's life cycle), they use 22 RF/t, so 2 of these would have been needed.
The flowers around the Apiaries are those I have placed; I have only seen a few others that have appeared as a result of the bees being here.
The Forestry/Gendustry room, with most of the machines I am using:
From left to right: 2 Apiarist's Chests. These have all my bees in them. The bottom one is full, so I added the 2nd one above it. To the right are 3 Large Storage Crates, containing combs, Forestry/Binnie's saplings and other bee products, butterflies and serums, and identified bees, saplings and butterflies. The Iron Chest was where I was storing all the Gendustry machines, and the Energy Condenser below it I was using to convert other items into seeds. On the back wall are 3 Centrifuges, a Carpenter using water, a Squeezer with a Hopper on top, a Fluid Storage Tank in the wall, a Carpenter for Seed Oil, another Squeezer for honey, another tank with honey in it, an Analyzer using that honey to identify bees, butterflies and saplings, and a 3rd Carpenter for honey.
Next to the last Squeezer is a Mutagen Producer, an Advanced Mutatron, and above it a tank for Mutagen. To the right of those is a DNA Extractor and Protein Liquifier, both used in Gendustry's genetics system. There are a few other machines not in the above screenshot. Those are below:
These are the Genetic Sampler, Genetic Imprinter, Genetic Transposer and Genetic Replicator.
I did a little bit with these machines in 1.7.10, though the only one I used was the Sampler. There are a few Forestry machines I have yet to make, such as the Thermionic Fabricator.
Last, I discovered that my friendly Pink Wither had died or despawned when I had gone exploring earlier.
Edit: I think my Pink Wither suffocated to death. This has happened in past versions of the game with other mobs, and I've seen it occur with animals in 1.12.2. There's a mod in the pack that you can make gravestones with, so I put one in the room where he lived and I put a sign on the wall behind it:
Meanwhile, in Soviet Russia...
🪐🪐🪐 Blocky World 🪐🪐🪐 - [ Whitelist / Survival / Redstone / Civilization ]
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.

I'll just link the Super Challenges list to really sink in how painful they are.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.

Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
In my 9 year+ SSP world...

MC Day 15804 (PC SP Win 10 Java Ver 1.13.2)
[\spoiler]
Mintutor now works in 1.13!
MrKite & Mc_Etlam ... I salute you!
