I've created a portal to the nether recently and i've been looking for a fortress for blaze rods and such. I have been searching forever for one but no luck. I even "cheated" and went to creative mode to search around easier but still nothing. I was just wondering if their is a way to find them, like any special markings or if they spawn around something significant. Anything will help. And thanks for the help on the other topics, i'm new to the forums and its a great community
There's no real way/method to find a nether fortress, you just have to wander around until you see one
They do seem to spawn mostly in or near big lava lakes
Hello Jordantre! Welcome to the forums. I was just wondering if you had "generate structures" as On or Off for when you created your map? If that isn't the problem usually They aren't too far from where I make my nether portals. Try going in a circler 100 blocks away from your nether portal to find the stronghold. I hope this helps! I don't know of anything that can search for strongholds like the slimefinder app does for slimes.
Nether fortresses still get generated even if you turned generated structures off, so that's not a problem. Just keep walking and you'll eventually find one.

I can't verify this, but i have seen it mentioned that the walls of nether fortresses tend to extend further to the north and south, making the whole structure wider when approached from east/west and narrower when approached from north/south. By heading east or west (and sticking to a straightish line) you find neether fortresses quicker, apparently. Good luck and persevere.
If you search it on the wiki it will tell how to find it. I'm pretty sure it says they generate in a north/south direction. Just make sure your "z" coordinate doesn't change. Also use the seed Survival and either if you make a nether portal it will put you in a fortress or you will spawn in one.
there's this thing called "google". when you search for things, you get hits for websites or forums that can answer your questions.
if you have information relevant to a topic, regardless of how old the topic is, and you post it, people can find that information by using the mysterious "google". hope that helps!

Haha, bonus points for being a smart alec. You're not wrong, though. That aside, they like to jut up out of valleys and out of cliffs. Just keep an eye out for nether brick, and try to avoid getting lost. Also remember that the more chunks you make load, the more likely you are to get a fortress to spawn.

Watch me mine for crafts, craft mines, fall down shafts and do a bunch of other things that may or may not involve blocks.
Nether Fortress are usually lined up along the North/South axis around about 160 blocks apart or something like that. If you wonder around your base for about 160 blocks you should find a Fortress.
Also check your y-axis since I have been finding the tops of the fortresses around y=60 to y=70. If you are too high or too low you could miss the fortress.
