Good episode, Monarch! If you're into more magic, I would suggest completing what I would call the Magic Triad: Thaumcraft, AM2, and Botania. AM2 adds unique weapons and tools, Botania adds cool baubles and various utility items using the power of flowers, and Thaumcraft can provide automation and some real snazzy stuff. I'd also suggest killing 5 dryads in quick succession near each other, it will give you a special reward
Anyway recently I've been "busy" doing a little bit of schoolwork and also playing a bunch of Warlords on Hypixel and doing some Cube World. It's kinda shocking that now I'm one of the top players in Warlords o.O
Anyways, I might get some work done on challenging some time soon; depends on whether I get some inspiration or not. If any of you have anything specific you'd like to ask me to do, FCB related or not, feel free to. I'm still open for pictures of your challenges so that I can make some banners that we can all use to show our support or something that's better than what we have now.
I would love to use Thaumcraft and tried to install it before settling with Ars Magica but unfortunately it crashes and I have no idea why. Since I can't get anything done with a crashed game, I chose to live without it.

Monarch Do you have a crash log of what happens when you try to play with Thaumcraft? It's often something small like a missing mod that is required to run it. You could also change item IDs if it's conflicting with another mod.
[EDIT 2] I tried a slightly older version of Thaumcraft 4 and it did the same thing. I'll keep trying different versions for 1.7.10 to see if they work until I get tired of trying and quit.
[EDIT 3] Nope. Nothing's working. The recent version, 4.3.0, and 4.2.0 will not work. I give up.
[EDIT 4] I've determined it just hates the word "thaumcraft". It refuses to even load the NEI plugin for it, giving the same error seen above.
My angel city and I had a falling out and I refused to speak to it for a long time.
But I have come to accept my city for the beautifully impractical eyesore that it is, and as I am not able to wrap my head around putting more buildings atop the tower (I found I prefer the castle having full sunlight, since it's evidently poorly lit and mobs have taken over), I have decided to embrace the utter nonsense that is this city and have decided to put the peace center area on it's own giant platform off the east side.
First laid out with wool using creative mode.
And later filled in to look like this (oh and I finished the other ...buildings under the castle platform too ) It casts a giant ominous shadow on the world below, right over the entrance to the tower (wow I'm smart!)
And if anyone is curious what the whole thing looks like and why it is ugly and is too lazy like me to look back and find old pictures, here's this:
I cannot adequately express how AWFUL I was at designing the staircase that runs through the core of this malformed tree of sandstone.
Unfortunately I was off one SINGLE block in my measurements of the new platform, so that it isn't perfectly centered on the tower, and of course I didn't notice until it was already filled in and I was trying to figure out where the buildings would go D: So the city and I are having another little tiff as I figure out how to make that not obvious
I've also come upon a small problem with this challenge in vanilla single player as this final stage asks for a few libraries but making that many books would either require you to kill cows or be very lucky at finding villages. I plan to just use creative mode to add all the furnishings to everything because I try to go down to ground level as rarely as possible because it's so far away and so tedious to get back up But people trying to be less of a cheater than I am might have trouble with this? I don't know XP
As as side note, I've also started doing the modded fantasy city challenge, and once I get a couple more buildings done, I'll be posting about that in the other thread too
those of you wondering why i don't have an active RP (so far none). i try. but whenever i get to the rules section of it my computer restarts. computer: i realise what your telling me and i give up.
Merpeople I was originally going to do something outside my comfort zone and choose an underground race but underwater sounded like SO much more fun and I couldn't resist.
I like the experience building the angel city has given me, but if I ever did it again from the beginning I would do it very differently XD

On the 6th page of the M-FCB forum, a person from the R2R forum mentioned having issues with Harvest the Nether and Thaumcraft playing nicely. I decided to try dropping Harvest the Nether and popped in Thaumcraft and guess what? It works. So, I guess HtN is not gonna be in my pack anymore.

Botania adds a load of flowers. Biomes o' plenty has already added tons. One thing my computer hates most is new worldgen. And, given the way the lag is feeling while recording, I may have to drop a mod that's already in there to support botania.

Um Botania dev has added decay for the start flowers which makes it really annoying to keep mana production up now without get way into botania. I'd say you can do with out it.
To be fair, I think most mod creators want you to delve into as many aspects of their mod as possible. So to that end, the passive flower decay makes sense, as it forces you to do more than just scratch the surface of what you can do with all these pretty flowers in order to access the rest of the cool stuff. I was also kind of annoyed at the change at first, but looking back I can see now that the earlier versions of the mod were a little too easy XD.
That being said, I don't really see a need for you (Monarch) to add it in if it doesn't interest you, especially if it might cause lag (even if it is pretty much my favorite magic mod XD). I have to be kind of picky with mods too for the same reason. And there are plenty of options for even more magicalness out there. I don't know what all of them are, but I know they exist because I see them stuffed in modpacks all over the place.
Thaumcraft is already on a touch-and-go basis for now as I haven't recorded with it in yet and the last recording session suffered a few crashes (I dropped in Galacticraft, Mekanism, and Thermal Expansion) without it.

So, it's been a while but I finally completed stage 2 of the human challenge. I guess I'll get right on to an update of my progress.
Farming
This is my second farm, since I had a bunch of pumpkins I decided that I might as well grow some more, I'm now using jack o'lanterns for most of the lighting on the sides of roads.
This is the animal barn, outside there is a small pen for chickens and inside there are pens for sheep and cows.
The Barracks
I went a little bit extreme on the barracks, instead of just space for 4 men I decided I would make enough space for 20 men and 2 officers.
The bottom floor is the mess hall and kitchen, this particular table doesn't have quite enough space for all 22 men but there are a few other tables I didn't take pictures of.
I believe this is the right side sleeping quarters, on the other side there is a room just like this. Each room can sleep ten men for a total of 20. up on the third floor is where the two officers quarters are, I didn't take screenshots of them though because they really just are individual rooms with beds in them.
Three New Homes
For these homes I thought that just making three homes like the others in the town would be boring, so I decided that these would be shops as well as houses.
The blacksmith is mostly the same as the other houses except that it has a area out the front with some furnaces, eventually there will be an anvil out there too, but right now there is not.
This next one is the Silver Cauldron, an apothecary. Downstairs there is a counter with a cauldron behind it surrounded by cobblestone so the fire under it doesn't burn down the building. Upstairs is the owner's home.
Finally we have Summergrove bakery, fully equipped with all a bakery could need as well as a windmill for grinding up wheat into flour.
There is of course also a home on the second floor.
Collection Requirements and the Park
Here is my full iron armour and iron tools.
And here is the wood and cobblestone.
And finally the park, in this spoiler because I wasn't sure what other section I could put it in. It's pretty basic; just some trees, flowers and a few benches.
So that's it, now I can finally move on to stage 3.
Your town actually looks really good. I have to say it's better than my attempt at the human challenge (that I still haven't finished).
Thanks, it might be a while until I finish the next stage, the castle is probably going to take me a long time, it will have to be pretty big to be larger than the barracks. Ah well, I've committed to it now guess I have no choice.

if your using AM2 there is no need to do any other magic cause AM2 is op. Hype spells. However excavation core FTW!

I honestly don't know what the issue is. It just crashes my game. I can't play and I don't know why.
[EDIT] This is what I get whenever I try to load thaumcraft:

Which race are you doing in M-FCB. butterfly? Also, sorry to hear you got miffed at your city. It still looks alright, though
