I can't remember many that i've had, but off the top of my head..
"Excavating" - Diamond shovel
"Aegis", "BOOM! Headshot", - Bows
"Massacre", "Unsheathed" "Temnota"(means darkness) - Diamond Swords
"Pantaloons" - most leg armour
"Hobnails" - boots
"Fishbowl" - aqua affinity + respiration diamond helm
"Mountainbane" - Diamond pick(eff 5)
They all sound pretty lame now, but eh... goodluck finding a name.
You call your bows "Aegis" too? I've always thought I made that up, but I guess not. Where is that name from?
I have only named one tool, which is a bow enchanted with both Mending and Infinity (and the very highest Power, Punch, and Flame enchantments of course) - this is a combination you can no longer get in vanilla Minecraft, making it one of the most prestigious and rarest weapons in my arsenal.
It is called Enderquin's Bow, as it is the bow I used to defeat the ender dragon.

LP series? Not my style! Video series? Closer, but not quite. Survival journal, maybe? That's better. Now in Season 4 of the Legends of Quintropolis Journal (<< click to view)!! World download and more can be found there.

Which kind of sucks, because newer bows can't have both, the problem I have with them being mutually exclusive isn't a problem in itself, but the fact you can't have indefinite repairs on enchanted gear using the anvil, means all Infinity Bows crafted since that nerf will eventually become useless, so it's no longer an Infinity Bow, because the enchantment doesn't do what it implies anymore. In my opinion, indefinite repairs should at least be allowed using anvils, XP (no more than 39 levels per full repair) and resources, in this case a new bow with full durability.
Doesn't this defeat the purpose of it being called an "Infinity Bow? leave it to Mojang to not think their ideas for rebalancing a game through.
And I've got a feeling this isn't the last nerf we'll be seeing on items with mending.
That said back on topic here,
I've got additional names of my own tools which may too become rare commodities someday.
I still use the same names that I used 7 1/2 years ago (previous reply), except I no longer use Fortune on my main pickaxe, which is now just "Mining Pickaxe" instead of "Super Pickaxe", mainly because I cave for fun and don't need most of the resources that I collect (it is also much cheaper, 31 levels for a full durability sacrifice repair vs 37 levels for a 25% repair with one unit but this doesn't matter for my playstyle). I also now use shears with Efficiency V, Silk Touch, Unbreaking III to harvest the cobwebs around cave spider spawners, while I previously just used unenchanted shears and crafted the string into wool; I rename them twice to their original name ("Shears", which is still recognized as being renamed due to adding a "DisplayName" NBT tag).
Other items that I did not list before (the items I listed are my "caving gear") include "Tree Killer", a diamond axe with Efficiency V and Unbreaking III; "Potato Harvester", a diamond pickaxe with Fortune III (in TMCWv4 this was a hoe, due to them being required to use Fortune on crops, I also added Unbreaking as they lose durability, which is not an issue in vanilla, in older worlds I just used my main pickaxe as it had Fortune so I didn't have a separate item just for crops); "Digger", a diamond shovel with Unbreaking III (it is already fast enough and more manageable without Efficiency); "Looting Sword", a diamond sword with Sharpness V, Looting III, Unbreaking III; "Sheep Shearer", shears with Unbreaking III; and "Gravel Harvester", a diamond shovel with Efficiency V, Silk Touch, Unbreaking III (I only have the last three in my first world as a result of trading since around 2015-2016; Looting to get more drops from animals, shears to shear sheep, and Silk Touch to losslessly get gravel).
Of course, the main reason I name items is because I still play in 1.6.4, where this allows you to repair them indefinitely by keeping the prior work penalty at 2 (I still renamed most of my items in TMCWv4, which has my own version of Mending which works the same way as renaming in vanilla).
Nerfing mending is a Right decision Because of the Fact that most of people Just Throw mending On their Tools and bam.it is now basically unbreakable.
before the enchantment get added you still needed to maintain and create new tools but now it's pointless.
what I'm saying is they should NERF mending and by nerfing I mean a major one, and make it like the old times
they could maybe add unbreaking 4 or something so that it replaces mending but still force you to replace your tools
You're missing the point, mending was intended to allow players to keep their gear indefinitely so long as they took care not to lose them by dying in the wrong place at the wrong time. Taking that feature away would be an idiotic decision because it would have defeated the point of its addition in the first place, some tools can't be easily replaced, diamond and netherite for example are rare materials that happen to be some of the least common in the game when found. It's not like players could just replace those every time they needed one, especially with the 1.17 ore distribution that made diamonds even rarer than they were in older versions, netherite ingot is needed for the upgrade, each upgrade costs you 4x ancient debris.
Besides that, what if players want to use a surplus of iron they collected for other things besides just replacing anvils, tools and armour? what about decorative builds? a lot of these nerf mending suggestions often come from people who don't have experience first hand with people who go beyond building a small house. Some people like to build cities, some builds do involve use of iron blocks, having to spend more iron to replace broken tools all the time would make some players not want to play the game, or at the very least play an older version of Java were said nerfs didn't apply.
see, first off you can collect diamond tools easily by trading with toolsmith and weaponsmith villagers (no need for diamonds)
second, 1.17 ore distribution did not effect nether ores as far as my little knowledge goes.
that is true, many people build castles, mega bases, etc... but that doesn't mean they cannot do so without mending tools.
mending and OP armor just wipes out the main "survival" aspect of the game. not saying the game is just about survival but rather, it is one of the main aspects of the game
they can replace mending with unbreaking 4 or similar enchants to fulfill it's purpose . this way you HAVE to replace tools but not as frequently

You don't start off with those trades being available, those have to be unlocked by the tool and weapon smiths, and I'm talking about resources that are found, I made that clear in the previous post before. And you still cannot obtain Netherite gear from trades, you used to be able to get a Netherite Hoe from Piglin bartering, however that feature got removed in a later revision of 1.16.
and no, I disagree with your Unbreaking 4 suggestion, what you're suggesting would be destroying peoples work, if you couldn't indefinitely repair your tools what would be the point in enchanting them? do you even understand how tedious it would be to keep making new enchanted items all the time? Mojang shouldn't remove a feature, just because a few people tell them to. A far better way to handle the mending nerf would be as TheMasterCaver did in his own mod, design it so an anvil was needed to do the repairing with items that had mending.
You're forgetting this is a sandbox game, except for hardcore mode this game was never intended to be a hardcore gaming experience, nor was it intended for full realism.
Lol wow
Miner's nightmare preset
Miner's nightmare preset (original terrain)
Killing the Ender Dragon, no damage (no armor/potions/enchantments/pumpkin)
You call your bows "Aegis" too? I've always thought I made that up, but I guess not. Where is that name from?

Divine Destroyer is the name of my enchanted diamond sword
I hate that naming things cost XP though, even more annoying is they can still break anvils, even when no repair was ever done in that instance.
For this reason I sparingly name things in the game, and I don't recommend others name their items unless there's a good reason to.
.
Yea for my axe (Sharp V unbreaking III Mending Eff 5) I like to use: Orphan Beheader
silk pick => silky milky
fortune pick => the fortunate
sword => heroo
axe => shadowKnight
shovel => dirtMan
hoe => who names his hoe like bruh
bow => lever-action rifle

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
