@ Valerius there WAS a time where you could obtain monster spawners. However once placed by a player it turns into a pig spawner in todays minecraft the only way to obtain them is by Invedit.
@ alanim slow sand is VERY useful yes but incredily hard to maintain due to the conditions in the nether. I honestly don't think you could use it on a large scale without sending miners with armed escorts to collect the stuff.
im not sure which program was able to do it, but i kno one was able to change the mob spawned from a mob spawner.

I don't want a gold star, because gold is useless.
Where =Hellstone on fire.
This makes it harder for them to get into the trenches, and also is a good thing to use snowballs for, since snowballs knock enemies back, perhaps into these pits!
Damn, for a raider, I sure have a lot of defensive ideas.

Warriors of Chaos!!!
Khorne, Slaanesh, Tzeentch, Nurgle - So many ways to die, so few times to do so.
Pr1de... where exactly will we be getting creeper spawners?...

Just mentioning, it brings you to between 10-25% speed when placed on top of ice. Might actually be useful enough to go looking for.

Wenn ist das Nunstück git und Slotermeyer? Ja! Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput!
@Aninimouse
I'm guessing the reason there are 2 in your picture is because you wanted to show it from 2 angles, not because 1 switch blows up another door... right?
The simplicity of it is amazing.
@Sellout
Thanks a lot! That makes me feel pretty accomplished :tongue.gif:
@Spehss Mahreen
Where exactly would that be positioned? Out in front of the trench??
@Everyone
Does water only freeze when exposed completely or can it be under a block?
Lock your Doors! Plant your Saplings indoors, because Aninimouse has just created another reason for you to want to stay inside your fortress for the rest of your days...
"Hum dee dum, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay..."
"Ah, what a Glorious Tree... It will make a nice Sword Hilt."
"There, Got those two logs, now to get the rest."
"La la la!"
*Thwack* *Sssssss*
"The HELL?!" *BOOM*
This ones for all you saboteurs out there! Just remove the top of the tree, dig in a little and place a TNT block, then put the trunk back and climb out. (You should have one wood left over). Then, wait for some lumberjack to go over and attempt to harvest lumber.

Oh, if you mean a door in the background, those were just other tests.

Hmm this would be Extremely viable IF removing that log triggers the TNT if you need to acidently press the TNT to blow it up Much less effective.
Well I normally just hold down the mouse button as I harvest lumber, but even if they're for whatever reason, being careful. They will become very very paranoid about their trees if they look up and see TNT in there.
@ Aninimouse
Either way, it's at least somewhat a win,
Aninimouse because your are resident demolitions expert i want you to try something. I've heard that if someone is in a minecart they take NO damage from explosives. Now if this is true someone could make a human cannon........
Funny you ask that, because I just tried it thinking the same thing with the same idea as my goal for seeing if it were possible. And I died. (I was on Easy Difficulty)
@Alinim
That would be great! And if you did it with pictures, it would take some work off my shoulders...
@Aninimouse
You've done it again XD, it would certainly make some lumberjacks paranoid about their trees!
This is ny to do list, if it interests anyone:
Things to include in the OP:
Viability of Monster Dungeons?
Navy operations - Joe + His dock?
The Nether + Defense against Portal Seiges by Kromeh?
Trench warfare? Spehss Mahreen's ideas
Viability of Underground Bases?
Different Building Types [Barracks... Storage... Etc]
Ranks?
Evacuation and Retreat systems...
Breach & Clear? Sky Rappeling?
Snowballs as a distracting agent.
Alert lights / Security alert systems
Post o23Kgyt7v8Q purge hallway by Doctor G33k
Power of slowsand on Ice?
Minecart decapitation Sabotage - Alinim?
Aninimouse Simplicity Trap
Aninimouse Tree Trap
Edit:
Human Cannons are entirely possible. They've existed for a long time. Check out "The Noobcake Labs" thread I referenced in the OP and you'll find LOTS of FANCY cannons... they're all ridiculous, really.
Oh so Aninimouse is the demolitions expert huh? :'( I see how it is!
Just kidding :biggrin.gif:
Well if Human Cannons are possible on a mode other than peaceful, there's got to be some special trick to them though... Hmmm...
And refering to the Paranoid Lumberjacks,
Either way, whether the Lumberjack spots the TNT, or is blown up, he's going to be very paranoid. And if there are other lumberjacks, he will probably warn them as well. And then they'll all be paranoid about the TNT trees, and be careful about cutting down trees.
This will of course, slow down the enemy's harvesting of wood because everyone is going to be cutting down trees very slowly, watching out for TNT.
Here's the hallway. Wait a little bit and I light things up.
I'm working on making a training simulator for people as well.

I'm guessing you didn't know how to do that? (Confused me when it didn't work properly the first time as well.) Just place the code at the end of the Youtube Video's URL into the Tags, like:
[yootube]o23Kgyt7v8Q[/yootube] (Only with Youtube spelled properly of course.)
Do it with lava! Also add something about mob farms in the OP as they will be crucial in the making of TNT and bows and their arrows.
^^^ Same set up. Just use lava instead of water...
I have an idea to make the tree thing slightly more hidden.
Dig the bottom trunk piece, and also make a 3x3 hole around the tree. Go one more layer down. Now place TNT in that entire layer. Replace it ALL with dirt, except the center which will be a WOODEN pressure plate, and replace the trunk.
By cutting down the first trunk piece the person will cause the trunk item to fall onto the wooden pressure plate causing kablooey.
One more interesting thing I just discovered.
By making a vertical cannon correctly, in full diamond armor you can LAUNCH yourself up about 20 blocks and a little west. With full diamond you take two damage, the armor one. It takes 20 seconds to make the device as well. I think it's very possible to use it to scale a wall.
Here's the setup.
Water Source
TNT
Redstone dust
Minecart (Ontop of Track)
[]
Just give it power while you're in the minecart and FLY. You will also head SLIGHTLY west, so build it close to a wall and fly.
MINECARTS DO NOT PREVENT CANNON DAMAGE BTW. YOU NEED SOME ARMOR. Funny I was testing this as you posted it...
EDIT: Scratch that number, it's more like forty to SIXTY blocks high! The fall might kill you!

Hmm, that's a good idea for an improvement on the tree trap Doc, although that seems like a bit much when it comes to the TNT if I'm reading that right.

All war server mods will have this thread bookmarked as use for their bible and pass it down to their soldiers.
This **** is awesome I can't wait for fully fleged SMP.
I'm honoured.

Also, make sure they're submerged in water so they don't actually blow anything up, just create force.
If you make a simple, easy to recreate launch-pad that can launch someone just over a wall, I'll include it in the OP.
Also! Doing that thing in the video with lava will be really annoying because:
1. It's slow
2. Lava is so damn hard to clean up!

The most inuitive setup for the tree trap might be this...
Just 1 tnt is probably enough to scare a lumberjack...
Joe what sort of airforce questions do you mean?
I've got the breach and clear and rappeling stuff down, I just haven't found time to write it up yet.
