I have a pickaxe in my survival world that needs repairing and has a ton of enchantments, but when I put the pickaxe in the anvil by itself it says "Too Expensive!" Is there a way to bypass this?
Going to creative is the only way that I know of.
Otherwise, make a librarian villager over and over until you get a mending trade. Then trade with him until he is an apprentice and lock in the trades. Then put him in a market stall or fence in a house (either one with a bed and his lectern), so he doesn't wander off.
Mending IS the bypass, so for this particular tool you're done for good, short of installing mods that deal specifically with this issue (as far as I'm aware, all mods that do also add a bunch of other stuff, too).
Also, looks like you've got 34 levels of experience. You can use a grindstone to remove the enchantments, and then you can probably repair it. Or merge it on a crafting table or grindstone with another worn-down pick to repair and remove enchantments at the same time. Then use a fully-powered enchanting table to re-enchant it, and you've got a decent chance of getting as good or better enchantments than you have on it right now. If you've got some enchanted books saved up, you can probably add them to top off its enchantments, and this time make sure to add mending so you don't have to repair it ever again.
