I like polished andestine with stone bricks, and occasional highlights of polished granite, and additional highlights of lapis, and then with some acacia logs.
Sandstone goes well with lime green stained clay, spruce wood and oak wood planks. Nether brick goes well with white or pink stained clay, red carpet and spruce wood planks.
This plus stained glass windows looks great.

If you want your building look good at all, iron probably isn't a good material to use.
i like the word "indolence". it makes my laziness seem classy.
Nice necropost m8
.............mcf isnt gone???????????????
Quartz and glowstone look pretty good together, with stained glass for the windows

Question: What's better than a Chocolate Chip Cookie?
Answer: I don't want to know the answer....
I think that if you play your cards right, you can do a great job with nether bricks, red nether bricks and wart blocks.
I also especially like stone brick walls+oak plank floor. And don't get me started on Polished Andesite.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
For "blocks that go well together", I think about colors. How well they look together may depend on what you are building or how you are using them.
Wooden houses with logs and planks for walls look great when the logs are darker than the planks(Example: Spruce planks side by dark oak logs).
Diorite, andesite and granite both as ore and polished look good along with stone bricks for castles and towers.
Spruce log and birch planks work really nicely together
Does anyone know what Stained Glass goes well with Jungle Planks?
Obsidian and Polished Blackstone Bricks look amazing with each other.
Imo obsidian is a rather ugly block.
I am not a builder and i started playing during the Aquatic update. There where only 4 blackish blocks available at that time.
Coalblocks, wool, concrete and obsidian.
Guess what block i didn't like based on the texture...
Anyway i think it's good that we finally got another blackish block with stairs and slaps ect. We where realy missing out in that department.
My projects:
-are abandoned for now. I might pick 'em up in the future.
For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q
