All it does is take up space and lower your potato yield from your farm.
This is a very common misconception but they are an additional drop, not a replacement for a normal drop, so they actually slightly increase the overall yield (not much; each crop averages a net yield of about 1.7 potatoes after replanting or about 85 potatoes per poisonous potato, and Fortune only affects the normal drop, further decreasing the ratio):
public void dropBlockAsItemWithChance(World par1World, int par2, int par3, int par4, int par5, float par6, int par7)
{
super.dropBlockAsItemWithChance(par1World, par2, par3, par4, par5, par6, par7);
if (!par1World.isRemote)
{
if (par5 >= 7 && par1World.rand.nextInt(50) == 0)
{
this.dropBlockAsItem_do(par1World, par2, par3, par4, new ItemStack(Item.poisonousPotato));
}
}
}
The poisonous potato gets my vote. It is so annoying to lose an inventory slot to one. If I just toss it away I always end up picking it up again, so I usually run to the nearest fence and toss it over the fence. I just saw a YouTube video on making a “rubbish bin” with a trap door cover so you can toss unwanted items in and let them despawn. I intend to place one next to every potato farm. If only you could put them in a composter...
I'd probably go for poisonous potato too, even tho i do hoard them. I'm only playing 1.13, but i assume in later versions it still has no useful uses? I always thought the poisonous potato was perfect for potions of poison, the spider eye should have been for night vision potions and the golden carrot something else.
Poisonous potato. It is useful for no crafting recipes and cannot be used with any other item or block. All it does is take up space and lower your potato yield from your farm.
I think it's high time a potion recipe was released using poisonous potatoes as an ingredient.
I think a "Potion of Paralysis" would be in order as that is one of the effects of severe Solanine (alkaloid found in greened potatoes and other nightshade plants) poisoning.
I cannot say that dead bushes are useless because they drop sticks when they are destroyed.
Think about it
Yes, now, but that was added nearly three years after the post you are answering was written.
I still think that collecting sticks from bushes and leaves is pretty pointless in normal circumstances, though the bushes are very useful in a treeless world.
Diamond Hoe.You need to be really stupid to make it.
Not at all!
Hoes are very useful, almost necessary.
If you've got the diamonds and are planning on starting a new large field it's very nice to not have to keep making new hoes when the iron ones wear out.
I used diamond hoes for a while, I stopped because I could never remember to leave them in the chest by the field and I'd find myself way off in my mine with an overflowing inventory and didn't want to just toss them like I would with an iron hoe.
And even if you consider it a waste of diamonds that doesn't make the hoe itself any less useful.
I did find it useful when I briefly played on a single biome desert world with no wood until I could find a mineshaft, which is pretty hard to do without a pickaxe. So I raided a desert pyramid and used the gold I found there to make a pickaxe to mine some stone to make a real pickaxe. (This wasn't all that long ago so I had lots of sticks from dead bushes.)
Of course I could have found another pyramid or a village with iron ingots in the loot chests, but since I had the gold I figured I might as well use it.
going by singleplayer - iron trapdoors are pointless besides building, zombies cant open wooden trapdoors so besides looks wooden trapdoors are infinitely better
edit - diamond hoes can be used for the advancement for easy xp
well, I guess it's the void block? Only obtainable with cheats and when you place it, it does mostly nothing. you can't even see the block. Or maybe there is some secret use?
What do you think is the most useless thing in minecraft? Do not post about something you've never used.
Usability is very dependent on personal playstyle. Your restriction is contradictory. I no not usually use things I think are useless for me. There are very much of them. Most animals, golden tools, rockets, crossbows, most of enchantments, snow and ice expect rare use of packed ice, and probably tens of items I do not even remember.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

Mintutor now works in 1.13!

Normally, yes.

Just testing.
