Hello, I have two problems:
1) After switching from version 1.13 to 1.14 I have a problem with the appearance of villages, they look like in version 1.13, the appearance of villages and villagers did not change, the villagers in general lost their professions.
2) I have a teleport to the nether, I have built additional teleports for nether in the version 1.14, but all built, new (in version 1.14) teleports lead to nether to the same teleport in the netherr that leads from the main possessions.
It looks like in the basic world I have three transitions to the nether, and in the netherm I have only one teleport, which always leads to the main estate. Please help, how to fix it?
Do teleports have to be very far apart so that they do not "duplicate"?[/pre]
The bad new is, if you already visited the village in 1.13, then the 'look' of the village won't change (they'll still look like 1.13 houses). I don't know about the villagers though, but if I had to guess then I'd say the villagers merely lost their professions (you can verify that by trying to trade with a villager, and look to see if he just shakes his head). But the good news is, you can now customize your villagers and give them the professions that you want them to have: put a lectern in a house where you want a Librarian, and the villager that lives in that house will turn into a Librarian. Put a composter in a garden, and a nearby villager will become a Farmer. Put a blast furnace in another house, and the villager that lives there will turn into a tool smith, weapon-smith, or armorer (I think).
Be sure to put beds in your 1.13 houses, because that's how villagers 'claim' their homes (and they'll sleep in their beds at night instead of wandering around and getting smacked by zombies in the night). After you get beds in the houses, you can then put in the items that will give the villagers the types of professions that you like.
If you do some more exploring and find a new village, then that village and villagers will appear with the new 1.14 enhancements.
About the nether and teleports, I'll have to let someone else answer that question because I don't really know if portal behavior has changed.
If you want to reset your villages, it is possible. There was a nice video (Pixelriffs or Whattles) that explains how to reset them to undiscovered chunks. WARNING anything you have built in that area will be erased.
2) A new Nether Portal in the Overworld has to be 1024 blocks or so away from your previous ones to automatically make a new one in the Nether but you can build new ones in the Nether that will connect with the Overworld ones.
If you divide the X and Z coordinates of an Overworld portal by 8 and leave the Z coordinate the same then that will match perfectly.
The coordinates don't have to match perfectly but the X and Z coordinates of the portal in the Nether have to be within 16 blocks of the recalculated Overworld coordinates or using that portal will just make a new one in the Overworld.
The Z coordinate can be anything and the portals will still match up as long as there isn't a portal whose recalculated position is closer.
Also, if you build a portal above the bedrock ceiling in the Nether you can only use it to get from the Nether to the Overworld, you can't travel to it from the Overworld.
1) If you travel to an area that has never been loaded so that Minecraft has to generate new chunks then they will be generated using the 1.14 rules and you'll get the new villages.
So if you want to keep your world you might consider building a new base in a far off unexplored area and have a minecart track at the top of the Nether to travel back and forth.
Villages in chunks generated prior to importing to 1.14 will not regenerate, and villagers that have not been traded with will be unemployed (with no trades).
It is possible to get new features in old villages, but doors are less important than they were before (they aren't used to validate houses). Each villager will need a bed, and unemployed villagers will need work benches to gain a profession (and trades).
Your other option is to prune your world, removing previously generated chunks and regions so that they will generate in 1.14 (this will remove any changes you have made in those chunks). I used the utility MCA Selector to remove chunks and regions from 1.12 and 1.13 worlds successfully.
Attached picture is my oldest SSP world (started back in 1.8) after pruning with MCA Selector. I kept the regions near my main base (large island) and surrounding area, which has many of my farms and other construction. You can also see a few regions where I just preserved a few chunks.
The gray and black areas will regenerate in whatever new version you import it to.
Thank you so much for help. I used MCA Selector, and now the village nearby looks like it was supposed to look like, the fact that only two villagers have a profession-farmer and the others are without assignment, but that's not a problem. The village grew in comparison to that of 1.13, there are cats, a golem and kids.
Thank you again for your advice and help. [/pre]

I need to check out MCA Selector. I see mcaselector-1.6 is out now and supports 1.14.
