When you come to an intersection of multiple dark branches, you may venture a short ways into each one to light a torch, quickly backing out. Higher branches first. This reduces the mobs surprise-dropping and sneaking up from behind.
I will do that next time I found a cave with many openings. What should I do if I find a ravine underground? Lit it completely up all the way from the top to the bottom and then remove/deactivate any spawners I find close to ravines? Is this that way to easily avoid sssSSSSSsssSSSing creepers?
Was it possible to survive the explosion from the creeper in the video?

Yes, light a ravine from top to bottom (as long as you have Feather Falling, otherwise exercise extreme caution about being knocked off.) If you must run around on the bottom, keep moving and stay away from the sides.
"Keep Moving" is a good rule anyhow; if you're walking steadily, you're already a few blocks from the creeper behind you before it goes boom. (We assume you're not going to walk into a creeper in front of you.) Explosion damage reduces quickly by distance - if you're just 3 or 4 blocks away, your damage taken is much less.
According to my calculations:
0 blocks away - 49 base damage
1 block away - 35 base damage
2 blocks away - 25
3 blocks away - 19
4 blocks away - 10
Since you have 20 health points, being 3 blocks away in iron armor is pretty survivable.
By the way, since armor works worse the more damage is incoming (don't ask me why they changed that), the creeper blast would've been reduced by only 20% by your iron armor (if the damage at that range was 20 points.)
So yes survivable - if you were 3 blocks away or more.

Ok, i can try to do this, but I currently only have unenchanted iron armor (Iron Helmet, chestplate, and leggings, but the boots is chain armor, i got the boots from a treasure chest found on a beach.)
How many blocks was I away from the creeper explosion in the video causing me to be killed by the f*cking creepers? I was on full health and have 9 food remaining on the food bar. Did you see on the video that I killed a creeper also with a bow?

You actually kind of backed into that creeper before you turned around and saw it, so I'd say you were around 2 blocks away, maybe less, at the time it exploded.

If a creeper DOES sneak up on you, as soon as you hear that hissing sound, just slam forward button. That ought to put enough distance between you and creeper.

Should I have attacked the creeper while I saw it or was the best way to just run away?

Ok i will do that if I hear the "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS" sound from the creeper. What should I do if it is a end of a cave and I hear the "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS" sound?
Also I was in the nether today with diamond armor, enchanted bow, diamond sword and many golden apples and I was killed by an invisible fire I lost a part of my inventory and therefore I will never play it anymore. i created a new world instead

Basically get diamond armor and then you'll be more or less OK (unless a creeper lands in your boots.) No, don't swat at a creeper standing next to you, no sword is strong enough to take it out in one hit. Run, someplace.
Knockback on your sword is always fun with creepers, but annoying with skeleton archers.
Use Protection IV on your armor and maybe one piece with Blast Protection is great too.
Seriuosly, creepers do not just pop next to you out of nowhere. If you are in a dead end and it is right behind you, chances are it been following you for a while. Stay aware. Look around. Do not leave open approaches behind you.
#1 protection from blasts is enchantments. Since explosions are source of most dangerous damage, I usually go for 3x protection 4, 1 blast prorection 4. This gives 80% damage reduction (9 damage point blank on normal). All 4 pieces protection 4 only give 64% reduction, so you take almost 18 damage point blank from a creeper, which is too close for comfort.
Blast protection 4 also reduces explosion knockback by 60%. Meaning less danger of getting knocked off a ledge or into lava.
And sounds like you have the same problem in Nether with not being aware enough. Avoid wide open areas if possible, stay close to walks. If you hear 'whoosh whoosh whoosh', a blaze just shot fireballs at you. Move someplace else and quickly check around for the mob. If you hear a high pitched angry scream, same thing: move elsewhere quick and look for the ghast.

4 pieces of diamond armor with Protection IV reduces damage by about 75%, or about 12 damage after armor, and about 7 with one piece of Blast Protection IV, since armor itself does add to the protection (armor penetration penetrates 12.25 armor points, leaving 7.75 points or 31% damage reduction left. Full iron armor would be reduced to 3 armor points or 12%, the maximum allowed. Note that diamond armor has 2 toughness, meaning that in full armor it takes 4 damage to penetrate each armor point (or 1 damage = 1% protection lost), compared to 2 for all other armor).
12 damage may still be seen as high but this is the maximum damage I can receive with the armor that I wear and I haven't died from a creeper in years, and then many cases occurred before I had my "end game caving" armor (e.g. early on before I even had iron armor), and in most cases the damage will be less, about half the maximum if one walks up to you and explodes while you are standing still, which will be less than that due to the armor penetration being less (24.5 damage will be reduced to about 4 damage in full Protection IV, 2.2 with one piece with Blast Protection IV instead); 1.9+ also has a major advantage in that you can regenerate the lost health in 6 seconds (I have to wait for 48 seconds, which is plenty of time for anything else to happen, or a lot more time spent waiting for health to regenerate (I consider a heart or two lost to not be a concern, only eating to heal if I lose more or am low on hunger).
Because of this, I'd only suggest Blast Protection on Hard, or if you don't wear full armor (I don't normally play in newer versions but I've tested them out, including adding Blast Protection IV to my boots. which is slightly worse than before, 70.8% vs 74.4% minimum damage reduction, but as mentioned a true point-blank blast is very unlikely; half the maximum would give 79.66%, close to the maximum (enchantment protection was randomized before 1.9) of 80.8% I get in 1.6.4).
Normal or Hard or Easy, I think explosions remain proportionally the most dangerous type of damage in vanilla MC, capable of doing the most damage instantly, and for *my* tastes, meriting the most mitigation.
Non-vanilla, it really depends. Abyssalcraft has some nasty mobs in deeper dimensions that dish out real heavy damage, and provides real advanced armors, so creepers kinda take a back seat. In full enchanted Samurai Dreadium, a point-blank creeper blast barely takes a heart off.
The Minecraft Wiki has a great tutorial section with tips on survival for new players. You don’t have to be a new player to enjoy reading them. There is a whole section on creepers including tips regarding water that I hadn’t known. A quote from that section: “If a creeper surprises the player, the player's first goal should be to gain distance from the creeper.”

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

Place a block between you and the creeper. Simple as that.

Yes, a lot of people don't know (I didn't know) that damage is reduced proportional to the amount of cover you have between you and the creeper.
Might not have the presence of mind to place a block but just getting partway around a corner perhaps is helpful.
OP did not even manage to turn around in time, and you expect them to...
Turn around.
Switch to a placeable block.
Place the block
Yeah. Real simple.
You hear the hiss behind you, you slam forward. Hard.
And that's why you make sure you're aware of your surroundings. Mine with caution at all times, and be prepared for the worst.
