I also think Minecraft is boring. Not enough good updates, and no motivation to continue playing. I feel like the should have abandoned the game before the 1.12 update, and started work on something else. It can be "fun" if your playing with friends, but it's usually extremely boring. Plus, the launcher is garbage and I cant even get the game to run most of the time. At most, Minecraft would get a 4/10 from me.
Terraria on the other hand is an absolute masterpiece of a game. 300+ hours of content, endless replayability, thousands of items and blocks, a beautiful art style, and very talented developers. I could go on forever about how good it is. 10/10. I would greatly recommend terraria instead of minecraft. Plus, it's on steam and it has it's own modding system, called tmodloader.

I googled it. It's a side scroller. Umm...okay but no. I admit Minecraft needs updates in a lot of areas but it's not boring....just frustrating.
I can AFK at my spawn all day long. At one time I felt it got boring (during the yar of 2017 to 2019). However I can just relax inside the world from time to time. I just wish that the Java version of the game would get alot better in performance.
To the people over the last decade that keep saying "You are wrong"
Do you even realize what you are saying, you are telling the OP that they are not bored. If something is boring to someone it is THEIR right to feel that way. This feels like a bunch of squeekers that know nothing about anything and are think their point of view is the only point of view. Wake up. This person found it boring, so you think you can somehow change how that person feels? So lame.
I agree with you. Minecraft has become monotonous. Throughout history, the pattern has changed and new blocks have been added. New versions seem to be somehow "not their own" for Minecraft, for example, versions 1.7; 1.12 are familiar to us, but newer ones do not seem like that. Servers are also already boring, everything is the same everywhere: donat, everything is multicolored, a permanent resource farm
Wow, that was a great video. Especially in modern YouTube days where everything is 10 minutes with drawn out intro sequences, introductions, talking about other stuff, etc. only to spend less than half the time on the actual main point. This one is just a video right to the point.
And it largely says what I've been saying for so long. People are taking the fun out of the game for themselves! The game offers way, way, way too many things to trivialize pretty much everything. Making farms and giving yourself maxed out gear is just a step away from turning the game into creative mode.
If you rush it, you're going to be be pressing a figurative "remove the point of the game" button. It's why I don't understand all this backlash about nerfs. None of that stuff has ever been needed. it trivializes the game. It should be a late game, long earned reward (and for clarity, yes, Mojang has some issues to address with enchanting and I wish they'd give the enchanting table a pass and moving the focus of enchanting back to those and off of the anvil/books because the latter should be supplementary, but not the main way).
It's part of why I, a builder/explorer, have started hardcore for the first time this year despite a permanent world ending mode going against the long term world build up style of play in particular. And it's why I then started another after I accomplished a lot in that world, and put even more restrictions in place and started exploring more as the purpose for that world. Especially in 1.18+, this is what the game begs for in my opinion. But that is just my opinion. That's not saying you have to play that way, but sometimes shifting it up helps, and there's definitely no shortage of ways to play. Early game you imagine this, imagine that... well go do it. You rush the armor/enchants and make farms for items, and then you don't see the point to anything. What's in it from exploring? What in it from caving? What's in it from... you get the idea. When you have "creative mode light" from farms and top tear gear, nothing will seem worthwhile.
That's not to say building farms is bad, but it's a sandbox, and when you rush these things that remove the "point" to continuing, that's on you as the player.
Also, I started watching and noticing all of the subtle mods or whatever and went "I wonder what is being used to get that" and then at the end there's... a hull screen of mods haha. A bit much for me but I might have to look into a few of those in particular.
Good time of day. I apologize for my English. I was developing a unique mmorpg server with a semi-open world. The mechanics included custom mobs and bosses with unique abilities, a weapon upgrade system, a level system, an armor system, and all sorts of additional mechanics for weapons and armor.
However, I was doing all this alone, and I just ran out of strength. Here I am looking for people who are interested in creating a unique mmo rpg server (maybe a bit like Wynncraft, but it depends on the imagination of the server manager).

I restrict myself to 'natural' rules for your reasons explained above. I replant every tree, re-breed every mob, etc. Don't make holes or builds everywhere and leave room for nature.

This is active since 2010?
Seriously, just close this, there is NO reason for a thread to be open forever.
ngl I felt the same way about it and actually took a long time away from the game. So, I won't be the one strangling you like so many have above...
But this video was helpful if you want to check it out!
Hope it helps @jsm
