So I noticed the almost-used-up enchanted pick in the "used Pick" trade screenie.
Do you get the pick back with the same enchantment as it had before, only fully repaired?
Or does it come back repaired, but with a different enchantment?
I have an Efficiency 4 Unbreaking 3 Fortune 3 pick that's 2/3 gone...want to keep its enchantments if possible. Thanks!
You get exactly what's in the trade window. For example if you trade a half-used up Fortune III pick and emeralds for a Silk Touch pick, then you get a fully repaired Silk Touch pick.
Just keep enchanting picks, Efficiency IV Unbreaking III Fortune III is a very common level 30 enchantment.
Ok, first off paper is not the best trade. Wheat is, for a few reasons: you don't have to craft it after harvesting, it drops seeds to replant when harvesting( this way you don't have to replant some of your reed resource), it can be planted on dirt up to four squares away from your water source making it more grow efficient( while reeds must be planted on sand right next to water), wheat seeds can be obtained from grass any where, while reeds aren't as easy to obtain(granted they are still rather easy to obtain), and the amount needed to trade for an emerald is less than the paper cost. However, both of these resources are great for trading and wouldn't be bad to have fields of both, since you are limited to amount you can trade in one session. Now, as far as the "rip-off" deals, they really aren't so bad. Think about this, a blacksmith want 8 iron ingots for 1 emerald. Yes, a very bad deal. But now, the blacksmith has a new trade for you: 16 emeralds for a diamond chest plate. Now the iron ingots pay off, provided you have a villager with good deals on emeralds. Because now, with 8 iron ingots and a few stacks of wheat and paper, you'll have 8 diamonds. Even if he only offers you iron gear, those iron bars basically make unlimited iron gear. It is a gamble, but if you take the risk with a good setup, the "rip-offs" pay off. This is my first post on this forum, and I apologize for the length, but once I started reading past the chart, I had too much to say. And just for some extra info, I've managed 12+ trade options from one blacksmith. Mostly diamond gear and chain armors.

Unless you acquired that pick from the villager, it won't keep the enchantments. Your best bet would be to combine your damaged enchanted pick with a brand new unenchanted pick on an anvil. Now, I don't know if this is more or less xp than the enchantment it's self, but you are guaranteed the same enchantment(s).Also, occasionally, I've noticed, that making a trade doesn't always produce a new trade. If this happens, then they have reached a limit to their options OR it has lowered the cost of a previous option.
This is great. Applies to the PS3 version, too. Since I have enormous sugar cane farms, wheat farms, and cows & pigs spawn like wildfire on the surface, I've found it incredibly easy to get full diamond armor & tools. Appreciate the post. +1
IMPORTANT! the librarian does not give emeralds for gold! instead, he give book + (5-64) emeralds for an enchanted book! there is a chance it could be a silk touch book, or even efficeincy 5! but if it does not unlock a trade, it tries for a different enchant that costs less in emeralds, so if its something you really want, have a lot of emeralds and books, so you can use it a lot before the trade locks!
I have gotten silk touch axes and pickaxes from the priest.

Most likely.
