maybe someone could make a weight-less tnt mod for use with reloding cannons
upon right clicking the tnt it becomes weight-less
that would mean that pistons can push more than 12 tnt blocks, currect?
if that was to be then it wouldn't be fun to make an automatic cannon because you will get a gigantic plain that is full of wight-less tnt...

no i mean when right clicked it adds weight and falls like sand gravel etc. sorry for the confusion

Did my post help you? If it did, clicking the little green plus sign in the bottom right corner would help.

thanks for clearing things up, i think that would be quite helpful...
but that will make the challenge of building cannons seem like the challenge of squashing a bug...

i have seen the minecraft bugs and what?? slab on ice gives it sliding ability! so that meant tnt lose less power at the slab. i tested this , and it boosted my range!!
nice!
i think you should try shooting the tnt before it touches the slap, that should boost your range even more, if it doesn't...
then you absolutely must post more about your cannon!

Built a semi-auto with pistons, lost design when hard drive died, guess it's time to build a new one. Would really love a way to "black box" logic to make even more compact circuits.

i'm sorry for your design loss, i would love to know how many lanes and shots did it have?
also i have never seen black box logic so far in minecraft, but i did see a mod where you can build complex circuits on a single block, meaning that the mod can actually allows you to shrink anything in minecraft i think...

i made a small tnt cannon with compressing tnt's but if i compress this to 1 block it has same power as 1 block of tnt :sad.gif:Embed RemovedEmbed Removed
by the looks of your cannon, in the images, its really hard to tell what the problem is... sorry... :sad.gif:
very creative with the compression system i must say.
i will build the cannon on my computer, and see what the problem is...
meanwhile, i recommend you try to build a vertical compression cannon, with 10 ammo tnt.
hint: don't activate the redstone from the ground level...

I am assuming that all the Fuel TNT are compressed to one block by the compressor TNT.
In that case you are suffering from Implosion.
Conumdrumer discovered it, and I have empirically verified it with experiments of my own.
Implosion is when fuel TNT in the SAME EXACT spot detonate at the same time, and some of the explosions are ramdomly canceled.
I have no idea why this happens.
To solve this issue you need to somehow set each fuel TNT just SLIGHTLY off from each other.
Vertical gravity compressors work the best because the TNT jump separates them slightly (be sure the TNT are free to jump in at least two directions for optimal performance.)
P.S. to Teslaptak. I really enjoy the TNT compressor system, youtube MRCC cannon to see a massive compressor cannon.

Glad to hear that you were inspired! Also, very clever using the cobweb! How far does your cannon go?

i changed design of mu cannon a bit of now , but i dont know hats the range because it xplodes midair above max height level
hmmm....
I would try lowering your cannon to see if it explodes within the height limit (use my wall technique to find the range)
or have TNT explode at the top of the missile to force it downward a little bit
or use a trapdoor launch pad
or use a same plane launcher
anyway, if it exceedes the height limit that is an impressive cannon!

Hi everyone)
When I created cannons in Minecraft, I had one problem.
When I'm firing a TnT, it explodes in air, because I have too much power in my cannon(i looked at You Tube and after few tutorials about cannons I understood that this is very common problem).
Another thing is, TnT cannon can't be used for attack, because it's too hard to create it very fast, and the cannons are very bad in defending too. So tnt cannons can't be used for more than some fun shots.(
:Flint and Steel: Once I wanted to create a castle with few cannons (and what you think happen?). One smart guy asked me, when we were creating a command room in the castle "what this button do and pressed it", but I didn't place one more redstone yet in the cannon . After that I hadn't seen my castle((
PS It was funny :laugh.gif:
I created automatic cannon in Minecraft 1.0.0 it can fire 2 times. There is a sreenshot))

use a trapdoor launchpad, and make sure the tnt almost hits it through the timings, that should solve your cannon problem...
i agree they are bad in an attack, but some cannons can be excellent defensive cannons... i have built one myself, now, as for offensive cannons, they can be excellent in an ambush on a castle... as long as they are hidden :wink.gif:

When you fire your cannon once, everybody know where it is))
For timing, I using redstone repeaters, so timing is perfect(
I added a screen shot of a cannon that fires perfect ( because this world is a flat world ). But in normal world it's very hard to create a good cannon (there are too many mountains and canyons)
I still have big problems with targeting system and hiding my cannons, because every time when I use my cannon it's very hard to hide the holes which tnt creates.
Can you make few screenshots of hidden cannons, please?
Is it true that the best armour for shooting yourself is gold armour?
I found very strange pattern every cannon fires differently(they all are same but few of them firing at 60-100 blocks and another firing at 10-30 blocks)...
And I have no idea what happening(I used same amount of tnt)

if it doesn't hit the slap then there will be no friction then the tnt should shoot very far...
