So...yeah. This might be surprising for some of you as well as me. I've seen a few people in the forums doing that. I've watched a little bit of Mindcrack UHC videos.
However, my feeling isn't that good. Ultra Hardcore is just survival but with natural regeneration turned off. Golden apples and health/regeneration potions are the only way to heal up. I seriously doubt I am experienced enough to survive in these conditions. However, I feel brave enough to brave all the dangers of the world of Minecraft especially with natural regen off.
So that's why I am making this journal and playing this the first time ever in my Minecraft career. I want to push everything to its limit. Gotta be careful though of the false moves which lead to my demise...
NOTE: The actual journal is coming up tomorrow or so. This part is just an introduction.
Without any further ado, wish me good luck because I need it! Don't forget to (quickly) participate in the polls above. I feel a little indecisive
EDIT: Seem like you guys are yet to vote in the poll above. I'm just about to create my world so please do so quickly.
EDIT #2: Just wondering...Once I complete all my goals, can I turn back on natural regen?
Just figured out that when I'd turn 8 years old, the 23th of November 2011, my parents could have offered me Minecraft as a birthday gift. Sigh...
Fun but frustrating platformer. Saves me of boredom when I don't feel like playing Minecraft. Knowledge of 8-bit old-school videogames is optional tho'.
Sorry I'm late...I guess you guys were bored of waiting an update huh? Don't worry, the fun part comes right now!
Definitely starting this right now. (Oh, and days count as real-life days, not Minecraft days.) World has been created in Hardcore mode (honestly, why so unfair?...) and Large Biomes world type, although I'm not a huge fan of running around for thousands of blocks so I prefer Default world type.
Day 1: (13-08-2018)
My spawnpoint: a swampland biome along with an ocean biome. I actually spawned on the patch of grass you see over there, but I took the screenshot when I was going to punch down my first tree and turn off natural regeneration. (I also figured out that swamps make good biomes for natural regen off, as their oak trees yield more leaves which yield more apples. However if I could find a mesa biome my worries about gold would be over.)
Now, the resource gathering process in a nutshell: get some wood, make a wooden pickaxe, mine some stone, coal..., kill animals for food... No need of a screenshot for that.
Down that cave I started hearing some loud zombies groaning. I shall investigate about whether is there a dungeon or no. Since I have natural regen off, I shouldn't take the risk that early.
Please blame the ugliness of my shack. This is the beginning of my play session after all. Later on, when I have enough resources, I'll build something WAY better than this. The ceiling is actually made of oak slabs and I was planning to add a chimney to it too, but I haven't had enough cobblestone because I used it in the building...Oh well. The little bit of health that went away from me was because of fall damage while building.
Stumbled upon a cave while sinking down a shaft all the way to y=11. That zombie which greeted me literally jumpscared me.
Okay that was a sweet and lucky find. I was proceeding to clear up some space for the double chest I'd put for storing my stuff and then saw this. Unfortunately I only picked up 4 diamonds from that vein =(
Well that's it for Day 1. I know that's very short, but that's just the beginning. Do you think I'm doing well? Reply down below. Stay tuned for day 2.
Edit: I know some of you may think I should do that after dying, but I have already uploaded Day 1, so too late Was thinking about doing that though. So stay tuned everyday, I guess =P

Hope you've been patient enough, Day 2 is going to be very long and interesting as well! Sorry for the ton of screenshots incoming though.
Day 2 (14-08-2018): Spent 95% of this day mining. Quite impressive...
I guess that luck is really on my side. Shortly after mining the first vein of diamonds I was mining this coal vein and found more of them! But just like the previous one, only 4 diamonds to pick up Still better than nothing.
Because this is Hardcore mode with natural regen off, I don't want to be ambushed by any mobs coming out of caves. So until I have enchanted armor and golden apples/health potions, I block off any caves I come across.
The first gold vein I've come across. Since this is ultra hardcore, any gold ores I will find are MORE precious than diamonds, as I will have to craft golden apples to heal up, and gold blocks for beacon pyramids to heal me up too. Unfortunately the rattling of a nearby skeleton archer told me that mining this vein wasn't worth it at all. Besides, I didn't even craft a shield so I retreated to my strip-mining tunnel.
I guess cave systems were hating me and wanted me dead. So I decided to go mining in another side of the strip-mine system.
Forgot to take this screenshot earlier. This is nothing but a lava lake which generated at y=9, 2 levels deeper than the usual y=11. And as stupid as it might sound, I plunged down to collect the iron from that vein near the water flow. Then I carefully built a bridge over that lava lake to proceed with the branch mine.
Luck is still on my side...
...and are you kidding me right there. (Look at the hotbar.)
Seeing these two near each other was really heartening. But only 1 diamond to pick up from that vein >:( I really guess that my luck is becoming unluck
Alright then, I don't wanna overload this post with screenshots so the rest is coming on the next one...
To be continued...

I wanted to go branch mining the opposite side of where I did, but this water kept annoying me. Then I found out it was a water lake :/
Time to retreat back to the surface, seeing as I mined enough for now. However, I realised that I didn't hear any zombies at all while backing up. I guess, I was trolled by excessive zombie spawns? Who knows...If it was really a dungeon, maybe I got farther than 16 blocks from the spawner? Really strange...
Backed up to the surface and I was greeted by rain. Nice. Didn't do anything much, I was just chilling in my shack until night time.
I've had so much sugar cane that I gathered from the beginning of my adventure. I turned most of it into paper (see hotbar), and made a small plantation out of the rest. I really need to find some cows for leather though.
Although I don't have string for a fishing rod, I still went for a fishing pier/harbor. And of course lit up so mobs cannot spawn.
I still have the feeling that the post is overloaded with screenshots. More coming next post! (That day was SO long wasn't it?)

Thanks a lot! And really hope I don’t die though, I think I’m doing really good. I turned subtitles ON so I can hear nearby mob sounds and especially find mineshafts

In the meantime, I made this wheat plantation. Sized 23x23 blocks. Gonna add 2 more rows: one for carrots, potatoes and beetroots, and another one for melons and pumpkins. (I actually need to find some melon seeds, as I will have to brew instant health potions.) Far from finished though.
Suddenly I decide to sink another shaft the opposite way of the one I made in Day 1...
Dunno why did I take this screenshot. Just showing off that I've killed my first monster. (a skeleton)
So I was branch mining when I suddenly came across this underwater cave (you can barely see the seagrass here.) I tried to drain it but it didn't work, so I retreated to another side of my mining system.
I was mining in another side of my branch-mine system when I stumbled upon this ravine (which was surprisingly small). This is literally the first thing I saw when I came across the ravine. (5 diamonds)
I'll just admit it. Gold isn't THAT hard to find is it?
Sweet! 7 diamonds, finally a change from these small-amount veins. Fun fact: As we speak I have found 21 diamonds during this mining trip (nowhere close to having a Fortune pickaxe). With my spare 11 diamonds at home (originally 13 but I used up 2 of them for my hoe), I have half a stack of them now.
Edit: Forgot to say I've taken more fall damage, but only one heart went away from me. I saw some gold in a cave that I've decided to collect, then stupidly fell off. Gotta be more careful. Fall damage is making me hit the dumbass. Not too long and I'll start crafting golden apples! (I have 5-6 spare apples in my foodstuffs and farming chest in my shack.)
