It is not just you. I refuse to play on the new launcher.
I confess that it's partly because my new launcher freezes, but I like less complicated so much better.
In some ways, I do. Pre-Beta 1.8 was more simple and the game was genuinely more difficult. Now, we have enchantments, potions, anvil repairing, automatic health regen, easy food sources, and armor that protects the same amount of damage regardless of how much it's been damaged. Before 1.8, the only reason you really wanted to explore was to explore the varied terrain for a place to build a nice base/home. Now people always seem to explore hoping to find generated structures for the loot they have.
However, I also like many things about the current Minecraft including controllable pigs, new foods, the hunger system, renaming anything, the mutltitude of new decoration blocks, redstone/coal storage blocks, the Wither, the End, and many more.
The older and current versions of Minecrafts have 2 vastly different feels, and I can understand when people say they like beta 1.7.3 more than 1.6.2. I personally prefer the most current version of Minecraft because I've gotten so accustomed to the new features.
Yes, it's just you. There's no "old" Minecraft. You just like the incomplete version of the game better. People still have "crazy creations" and less glitches, the better. I've played old versions of Minecraft and I don't see why people like older versions so much.
Didn't you just kinda contradict your own statement there Mr. NeedsToLookUpTheWordNostalgia?
Of course! Any minecraft "veteran" would miss the days of beta when it was so straightforward... Build cool houses and survive the night with friends, make a good living, with farms of all kinds... But now we can revisit those days with the new launcher. Thanks Mojang!

I started playing on 1.3.2, and I was in love. I guess I am OK with the new updates, but I still only use items from 1.3.2. Maybe it's just because that's what I started with, but I really don't care for the excess of new items.

Hot Glue Trippin Since '93!
I'm just a Minecraft player that likes to give my opinion. Nothing special to see here.
