First post here! I am in the process of building a Wizards Tower in survival mode, I am using a piece of concept art which looks amazing. I am wondering if anyone has any good circular roof tutorials you would recommend, I've been search but finding a lot of square roof tutorials, not many circular ones! I gave it a quick try in creative and it didn't look very good. Any help is much appreciated!
I've attached a screenshot of the current base, I may make it slightly taller.
I may have posted previously under a different name, but I can't seem to login to it.
Yea, do you have any tutorials and/or a bigger version?
We'll idk if advertising of YouTube channels is allowed but if it is then you always check out my friend Jansey's Wizard tower tutorial it's got a circular wizard hat shaped roof and if youre looking for something like that photo portal then I got a tutorial on my channel too
For anything spherical I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Plotz!!! That site has helped me make some really cool roofs.
Your pic of the Alladin one uses a different approach to the one I use for Spheres. Basically i build 6 identical dishes replacing the sides of a cuboid shape and then smoothly fill in the triangular corners.
Here is a shot of my largest one which is 58 blocks in diameter perched on a 6x6 pinnacle. Took many thousands of blocks to build. This is on a MPS world at 1.11.2.
Plotz! Plotz! Plotz! It's really my GO-TO for such things. There is also http://oranj.io/blog/VoxelSphereGenerator which offers more complicated shapes, but Plotz can take you REALLY FAR if you know how to use (abuse) the site.
This, I am taking! I had no idea such a thing existed. I've never attempted large size/scale mathematically correct things like that (always stuck to smaller scale, lines, and/or using my eyes, with my ships probably being the hardest I've tried manually), but this will no doubt come in useful for expanding what I try and build in the future. I want to do some airships/balloons some day and no doubt this will help.
So it's definitely not looking round and I will fix that, but I am pretty happy with the general way the build is going now, thanks for the help everyone!

You can change the width and height in PLOTZ to match the size of your build. I'd make the sphere first, then build the windows and detail around it.
