So I made a Slime Farm recently when I saw I had 2 slime chunks next to eachother, and I noticed that barely any slimes are spawning. On the ground I used Jack O Lanterns since from what I've read, torches on the ground interfere with the spawns, so I removed them and placed Jack O Lanterns all in the floor (As shown in the first image). The slime farm is based on a Slime Farm that Mumbo Jumbo made in Hermitcraft. The second image shows how the Slimes are gonna die, They get pushed into the Cacti and the slime balls fall into the hopper and go into an item elevator. Have I done anything wrong with my Slime Farm? Also, Slimes have spawned. It was only 1 big slime though.
Edit: Had to edit pictures because it shown the IP to the server and I dont want people joining.
How many players were on at the time? Did you light up all the caves in a 128 block radius around the farm? What's the servers render distance? Did you ask server staff for help?

If you go and watch mumbos latest videos, of HC 6, he made a good design. I'm not sure about the issue with spawning, but adding multiple layers could help.
If the surrounding area has not been spawn blocked your slime farm will be slow.
Also, if you are observing from where that screenshot was taken, then you have less than 1 slime chunk available for spawning. No hostile mobs will spawn within 24 blocks of a player, so standing that close to your 2 slime chunks eliminates more than half of the spawn space.
And I'm pretty sure torches have no effect on spawning slimes, but Jack-O'Lanterns are fine as well.

My slime farm is built at Y = 30
The surrounding area is spawn blocked, but I might have to go back to make sure.
I only went there to take the screen shots for the post. I don't go near the slime chunk.

Just so you're aware, all that dirt/stone/gravel/etc above the farm is reducing the amount of spawns. Having it there drops the efficiency of the farm by a huge amount (like 33% or more) because it forces the mob spawning algorithm to keep checking for spawns above the slime farm even though it likely can't spawn anything there. This "rule" impacts every single mobfarm ever designed, but it more seriously impacts slime farms due to slimes having an inherently lower chance to spawn in the first place.
If you want an efficient mob farm, 1)don't cover up the spawning platforms with non-transparent blocks (unless you have to) and 2)don't let anything in the chunks the mobfarm occupies rise above the roof of the mob farm.

I'm doubtful that has much impact on slime chunk farms, because slimes only spawn in slime chunks below Y40 (so there should't be spawn attempts above that).
Unless you are referring to other mobs spawning above that? In which case, area prep is the key. Spawn blocking the surrounding area really does make slime farms ramp up production.

As near as I can figure out from the Wiki the spawning algorithm first picks the position of the spawn attempt and then the species to try to spawn.
So if I've got that right the rock etc above a slime farm would lead to more failed spawn cycles.

What version, and how did you locate the slime chunks?
Also, make sure you're not too close to the farm or slimes wont spawn. Distance is a key factor. 26-32 is the ideal distance.
1.12.2
I used chunkbase to locate the slime chunk.
I'd say I'm 64 blocks away or 36.
