Hey, is it possible to get fortune and silk touch in one pickaxe? I don't care what level or anything, I just want to know if it can happen. Thanks!
IF you could you wouldn't want them on the same tool. Why?! Because fortune only works on ores that drop none ore items. (i.e coal, redstone, ect). By having silk touch also on the same tool would make that tool drop the whole ore block disallowing fortune to work at all. The only thing fortune would work on if on the same tool as silk touch would be on mobs to drop more then the normal amount of items

Actually Fortune won't do that, only Looting (And then, you can only put it on a sword)
FYI. In vanilla 1.6.2 I just did a level 30 enchant on a diamond pick and got Unbreaking III, Silk Touch I and Fortune II. So it is possible now. As others have said it is useless however to have both. I wasn't looking to get both it just happened that way.

Fortune on a Silk Touch pickaxe is (mostly) useless since Silk Touch overrides Fortune unless it doesn't work on the block (e.g. crops will still drop more seeds/carrots/etc):

Not only that, the code that calculates the effect of Fortune on ores only works if the drop item ID is different from the block ID, so even if you made a modded item that bypassed the Silk Touch check it still wouldn't work unless you also bypassed the block's drop method:

It's not impossible, but it would obviously be a glitched or hacked/modded version of a Pickaxe to have both enchantments as normally they would be incompatible with each other.
Even if they were to work legitimately in the future of the game it would clearly be absurdly overpowered, and honestly I am glad they are incompatible with each other as it forces players to make a decision on what they want on their first enchanted pickaxe and it encourages more strategic gameplay.
There should be no all purpose tools or armour, each should have a use another does not as it then means more skill is involved in how they are used. Think of it like rock paper scissors or types in Pokemon.

Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
While fishing in cosmic craft mcmmo factions I received a damaged pickaxe with silk touch and fortune III.
I first combined it with a pickaxe with efficiency IV and unbreaking III in an anvil and then with another pickaxe with efficiency IV.
Giving a final pickaxe with:
Efficiency V
Silk Touch
Fortune III
Unbreaking III
