I used to watch a show called "Meerkat Manor" about meerkats, a type of small animal that lives in the African deserts. There was a family of meerkats from that show called the Lazuli. It was pronounced laz-you-lye. That's where I got my pronunciation from.
I've never said the full name, not once. I always call it either just "Lapis" (la-pis) or more often "Lazowi" (la-zow-ee). Oh yeah, sometimes I just call it Blue!
"Sometimes, I just wanna give up, say 'I'm done with this mess' and go to bed. But you know what; you can't shrug off your responsibilities. You got to pull yourself up and meet the challenges head on. That's the only way you're gonna get ahead in life."
I've been in the gem business for 30 years and my family has been in it for ages.
The correct way to pronounce Lapis Lazuli is "La-pis Lah-zoo-lee".
In recent years for some strange reason I've noticed customers pronouncing it wrong, someone brought it up so I googled to show they were wrong and was shocked to find approx. 4/5 online sites seem to have it wrong. (yet again, I've found many things over the years where online info is wrong)
This may be the case where the pronunciation of a word changes over the years, but in the gem industry it always has and always will be "La-pis Lah-zoo-lee", and in my opinion people who spend their entire lives working with gemstones should be the ones to ask how to pronounce it.
La-**** Lah-zoo-lee
I hate Pikachu....

Or if I am lazy, I call it lapis lasagna.
rapisu razuri.
But our "r"s sound close enough to "l"s for the common person, so...
And we do not accent any one syllable.
I love Meerkat Manor too! It's a shame it's off-air now.
- I refuse to write a signature, and you cannot make me. No.

Lay Peace Lay Zuel Lie
