If you did not know already, a supercharged creeper is a creeper that gets struck by lightning. Their explosions are the size of 2 TNT explosions.
A few weeks ago I walked into the village to go gather your wheat. While I was collecting your wheat you overhear some guy's conversation about a Supercharged Creeper. Just the name itself frightened me! I then heard him talking about how to survive the blast. The guy said that you will need a bucket of water maybe two and also an iron or diamond shovel. He started going into detail about what you need to do. He said that when you are running for your life, you would need to pull that bucket of water out of your bag and dump it right in front of the creeper. Then get your shovel out as fast as you can and start digging everywhere around the creeper. He said that if it gets to close, use your other bucket and dump it right on top of that creeper! From now on, I am going to carry a shovel and 3 buckets of water with me!
There's more than one easier way to do that. For example, a bow and arrows could be used to kill it, it works more quickly and occupies two inventory spaces rather than four. Inventory spaces are very valuable in my opinion, especially in your hotbar.
I actually have yet to see one in a vanilla survival...and I've been playing for over a year.
The way I see it, you're either about to take a heap of damage or should be far enough away to escape/kill it with arrows.

Back in 1.6, I actually encountered a charged creeper while being chased by skeletons in the rain. I was down to two hearts and presumed it to be the end, but then one of the skeletons shot the charged creeper, and as a result, the creeper took his revenge, leaving a massive crater where the skeleton pack once was. That creeper saved my life on that stormy night, never saw one again.
You shouldn't have to worry though, the odds of seeing a charged creeper natural are about as slim as being struck by lightning on a clear day. Even If you do see one, it's just like fighting any other creeper, just with less health and more risk.

If I see a Thunderstorm, I'll just stay indoors thanks.
