So, this happened to me today, and I'm not mad because it was my own stupidity and I disobeyed the first rule of minecraft. I was digging a 1x1 tunnel down so that mobs would fall for a trap, but I forgot you aren't supposed to dig straight down. Please don't berate me; I have already payed the price.
I can't remember everything I had in my inventory, but none of it was game-changing, so it will just be a slight setback. So I just sighed and moved on.
So, let's imagine you just died in lava with everything you currently have in your inventory. What do you do?
The one and only time I died to lava where I was totally taken by surprise and carrying a lot of stuff was on a spelunking mining session. My packing was bursting and I was about ready to head out but I saw some ore over by a lava pool so went over to mine it. There was a one block ledge down to a large gravel floor by said lava pool. However what I failed to notice was the 1X1 hole that was two blocks deep with lava at the bottom of it next to the ledge. It happened so fast I really didn't know what had happened till I went back down to the spot and looked and saw the freak hole that I had apparently fell into. Obviously in a hole like that no items survived.
Lol'ed at the first and second opinion. I sigh and move on with my life. Now losing diamonds, that's another story. If I lost diamonds I would go with option 1.
I just keep going. Also, I never died by lava yet... SO yeah... lol. In fact, I think I have only diead about 3 times in Minecraft (A REAL death, killing myself dosnt counts).
But thats what I would do.
Also, I L O V E The game over screen. Dont ask why, but I just find the "Game over! Score: &e0" hilarious. And, wow, I know the Score from memory xD (Not that 3 random letters is that hard to remember, but still).
Actually, digging a 1x1 hole down got me my first diamond. I hit a cave with 9 diamonds in it :biggrin.gif: Anyways, I have only died in lava once. I was like "Wh-wh-wh-wha? b-b-but I had 5 diamonds with me (a pickaxe and a sword)!" I was making an obsidian farm, but I accidently misplaced the lava and...I burned myself. When I came back I was like, "...WWWwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa?!??!?!?!" And I saw that almost everything had survived the lava. It was like a miracle, all I lost were some raw blocks (cobble, wood, etc). Well, another time I almost died. But amazingly, my super minecraft instincts kicked in and I rapidly press I and swapped out to my bucket of water before I burnt to death.

I don't belive you. I think your avatar explains what happens :tongue.gif:
Well, in my current inventory, I have an enchanted diamond pick, enchanted diamond sword, enchanted bow, and a diamond shovel. I'd probably ragequit and play again later.

This. Making chests is a necessity.
Tired of plain old puzzle maps? Try out "The Secret of Wayhart Point"an adventure map where you are free to explore!
Other than that, I rarely carry valuables with me so I just restart.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
So I cannot vote.
There's yet more to come!
Steam: RobotDeathParty
