1.Random Ambience(many of you guys tell me to mute the sound but i dont like playing the game muted)
2.Random mobs jumping from nowhere or from the darkness and creeping behind you.(especially creepers).
3.Herobrine ( i know he isnt real but im getting goosebumps when i mining underground or mining in my mine if im getting scared i go to third-person view to watch my back and that really makes me uncomfortable).
4.Darkness
5.looking back sometimes(it creeps me out).
well those are my reasons so plz help me out cuz i really like playing minecraft but those reasons well.... i cant play minecraft ( well i can still play but its missing the mine so it will be only craft.)
U can go peacefull but this is a bit boring tho... (Thats my opinion ofc) But what i do as that i make sure that i allways put up torches everywhere i have been in caves so that no mobs can spawn in. Also i tend to block off parts i have not been yet with dirt or cobble. By doing this u are very secure.
Another thing u can try that i have herd of but never tryed my self are water. Make a water flow in oposite direction of u. That way mobs cant get to u. And if u want to make that even more mob-safe u can use lava. Tho lava can be fatal if handeled wrong.
1. Delete the ambience>cave folder within the resources folder, which is in the .minecraft folder
2. Nothing much you can do about that other than constantly check your surroundings
3. Don't ever worry about him, Herobrine was a hoax. He is not real, never was real, and never will be real.
4. Torches
5. Nothing you can do about that really
If it's the mob aspect that scares you, change it to peaceful
Well I used to feel like that too, so i just dig under my house and avoid caverns. It's pretty effective to find ores, but if u want to go adventuring just be well prepared get at least 50 torches, some wood planks, good gear(depends on how good you want it to be, for me stone is good enough), a lot of food (i recommend easily renewable sources such as carrots), good armor. If it still doesn't help, get your friends to join you mining it really helps to have company
There are great suggestions above. I will add on a little to what has already been said by saying:
Stay away from caves. Just mine into solid ground. When you mine into a cave opening immediately close it off with blocks that you will know mean "stay away from here" to you, then mine in another direction.
Never mine directly down beneath your feet in case it opens into lava or a fall, mine the block in front of you instead then jump on it and mine the opposite side back and forth like that and you'll be safe.
And like has been said before: Torches, Torches Torches! Have at least 1 torch every five spaces, that leaves 3 spaces between each torch. That will normally keep the light levels high enough to stop the normal world spawning, doesn't work in the nether though, use half slabs in the nether (they work in the normal world too).

These, are the main idea of Minecraft itself. But, if you're afraid to do them, you could do the following (Some, previously suggested)
Delete the ambience cave folder
Creative
Play on peaceful
Get armour
Get weapons
Use torches
If you're afraid of just the caverns, caves ect. Than, when mining if you dig into one, simply block it off, and mine away from it.
With the number one reason, either delete the ambience in your .minecraft, or mute your sound and put your favorite music on. As for hero brine, don't believe it. It is a false legend to scare you.
Think of it this way, you're the one playing this game, so you have control over what happens. If you're so scared, pack a few swords, plenty of torches.
If that doesn't work, just keep it on peaceful for a bit, and you'll eventually get used to the game, although you should also lower the sounds volume in your options.
After a while, you might get used to it, as all newer players do, so you might want to try easy out and hunt down mobs in the night.
Also might want to boost that brightness all the way up, should help with the darkness.
Lastly, try your best to remember, you are the player after all, and you are the one that should, and shall, dominate your environment. Don't let your fears creep up on you, for you are essentially the hero of the game.
I loose lots of stuff to cave spiders in a mineshaft, and I was trully scared when I found a second one.
So I played overprotected, until it starts to be boring instead of scary
Here are my tips to explore a mineshaft in a totally safe way (I play on normal, and the worse I got was a loose of 4.5 hearts, and it was because I forgot to eat for a while) :
- bring a stack of good food (cooked potatoes are ok and easy to farm), a bit of wood, iron and coal, gravel and coblestones (you'll find a lot more while digging), two buckets of water, tools and weapon you like, armor too. I do not have enchanted ones when I started.
- make a place totally safe and closed at a point of the mineshaft, by closing it and lighting it. So if you here noises, you know they cannot enter. In it put a bed, a craft table and an oven for your loot. Sleep in the bed before starting, like that your spawning point will be at the entrance of the mine, easy for you. You can leave a chest with a safety package (more weapons, tools and food in case of dying and having to go back get your stuff fast). I did it but never had to use it. Dig 3 blocks and make an infinite source of water, usefull for lava and endermen.
- start any way you want. Mineshaft are made of clear and easy path, very bockable. If you take all the wood, you will very soon have enough fences to block every path you see. So you will always be safe, as no one can come out from an unexplored path. Light everything (I put torches on my right as I go, and on the floor in direction I do not take, like that I know where I'm coming from and everything is light). When you want to go further, you can see trough the gates if anyone is on the other side. If not , you can do a small opening (most mobs need room to come out) and light it from the hole before opening further and going out just the time to block any hole with more fences. Then you're safe to light and dig what you want.
- For cavespiders, you can avoid them by noise easily. If you want to deal with them, it's easy with lava flowing in their direction, and gravel to come close enough of the spawner to destroy it. But the fence system is good enough to get to the chests without taking care of those. Extra safety would be to bring wolves, the spider can bit you once (with poison : two hearts only, it won't kill you) and then be killed by your doggies. But dogs and lava do not go to well aloung
And you can go back to your first shelter from time to time to make new tools and put your loot in the chest.
I remember when I was so scared of mobs that I built an entire obsidian fortress and never left it... ever. All that you have to do is keep mining, and teach those mobs who's boss. Creeper, taste my blade!

Hehehe, all of those are things that get me excited! Just think of it, there could be just about anything around any corner all waiting for you to play with them! Clock up your reflexes and get ready to start cutting at a nanosecond's notice, 'cause it's party time in the old mine! I love it so much! Sooooo... why do they bother you? We're both playing the same game after all!

"Sometimes, I just wanna give up, say 'I'm done with this mess' and go to bed. But you know what; you can't shrug off your responsibilities. You got to pull yourself up and meet the challenges head on. That's the only way you're gonna get ahead in life."
If you are mining in a mineshaft, it's easy to get lost. the best way to prevent this is to make your house super close to your spawn point, and get some redstone to make a compass. if you get down there in the mines or caves, dig up untill you reach the surface. then, use the compass to get home. That's all i got. sorry. :/
wow tnx guys for helping me out and btw GREAT SUGGESTIONS! this post helps me alot and im not anymore scared but im still scared a little.anyway tnx so much for helping me
1. You could remove the sounds from the game, not sure how to do that though. If you listen to them for a while, you'll get used to them, though.
2. Unless you play on peaceful then there's no avoiding this. Just make sure to bring armor and a weapon. You'll be very well protected if you have iron armor.
3. Well since you know he's not real, I can't really help you with this one. Just avoid Herobrine stuff on the web.
4. Use excessive torches, or even better, grab some night vision potions. They'll light up everywhere and you can see everything, even underground. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Brewing
5. Make sure everything behind you is lit and there probably won't be mobs. And Herobrine won't be looking at you, either...
I was scared of mining when I first got MC too, but after a while you'll get used to the mobs and darkness. Remember that it's just a game and whatever happens won't happen outside of it. As a last tip, play multiplayer instead. The fact that you're not alone is a good confidence booster when you go underground.

Face your fears,
Oh, herobrine has better things to do than mess with us players.

Just put it on easy whenever you feel you want to try and get some mob drops. But otherwise, peaceful until you do.
