Favorite: Anvil - I use it all the time
Stupid: Tripwire Hook - I've never seen someone use this. Seriously, there are rare cases in which you would prefer tripwire over pressure plates. If you have a stone or wood plank floor, pressure plates have much better camouflage.

Have you seen the Enderman farms using tripwire? Or even the wither skellie/general mob farms using similar designs? Trip wire hooks and trip wire make them very efficient.
My best/favorite: Hoppers and nether quarts and it's related building blocks
Least: unsure...possibly changing the hopper craft from stone to iron or the bonemeal change for trees (don't care about crops) but I'm kind of over it.

Are they 100% necessary there, or can people use pressure plates instead? thats my point
for maximum efficiency I believe the tripwires are optimal. Not to mention it uses less redstone, but that doesn't matter as you are usually swimming in the stuff.
It all comes down to what you like to do I guess. I hate pressure plates and only use them for the inside of iron doors. I find no oher use for them. You may be the same with trip wires and hooks. Good thing is there are all sorts of different players in MC that have different methods to achieve similar goals.
It's why I love the MC community most of the time.
My favorite update would probably have to be 1.4, I liked every feature, especially the anvil.
I don't have a least favorite update, they've all been pretty good.
1.0, enchants (Apart from silk-touch and feather falling) ruined multiplayer, everyone grinds 24/7 and does nothing else but that and strip mine, on every single server! 1.8 slides in here a little bit, due to terrain generation, but I don't realy care.
Best? 1.2-1.5 multi-coloured wood, stairs and slabs, side logs, quartz, Ligh detectors, redstone blocks, villager trading, and all that awesome stuff.

But besides what we don't have yet? The stairs update where they conjoin together neatly.
Worst? Uhmmm, That one thing where you can make wood point sideways or whatever...You'll understand.

Most Hated: By far 1.3, 1.4, and some of 1.5. I guess these 3 1/2 years of minecraft experience made me more old school.
