Why is everyone going crazy about OVERWORLD stuff?Haven't you ever had annoying NETHER portal spawns?Once I spawned right next to a lava lake and if I ran off the platform I'd just DIE!!Then a ghast blew up my portal so Imade aneew one and it was right above an OCEAN!!! >:(
Because the thread topic is about overworld spawns, not nether or return portal spawns. We've got topics for those too.
Heck, we probably even have topics for bad End center island and End remote island spawns.
I think I get so unlucky when it comes to spawning I keep spawning in a jungle biome and really I don't like spawing in that kind of biome. So what is the worst biome you have spawned in tell me also what the spawn had Cause really there are some really unlucky players and 1 of them is me...
I’m currently playing on an smp and the spawn is an island with no trees and nothing but water within 300 blocks. We built a nether portals here though so new players can get to the mainland, but the spawn is terrible.
For me? Plains. Bore. Me. To. DEATH. I'll delete any world that I spawn into a plains biome (I like my spawnpoint to be a 2-minute sprint away from wherever I settle down.) My favorite for spawning into are Ice Spikes / Taiga, or Desert. Bonus if it's an island far away from any mainland. I like me a challenge!
Aesthetically speaking, Savannah / Mesa and Swamp are my favs. Jungles are nice because tree forts. Taiga and Plains are the most boring-looking. You'd think I'd find deserts boring but Desert Pyramids are their saving grace. My favorite place to start a survival base!
I played a realm where the world spawn was shroom island bordering badlands. I think the owner picked the seed for the rare biomes but in practice, they kinda sucked.
Having said that, a good player will thrive in any biome
I'd say mooshroom island is the worst one because it's an island and no wood so you can't make a boat so you have to swim and by the time you get to trees it's night and the zombies get you and you respawn it the island and even though it's a rare biome, it does nothing useful.
Except they're islands so shipwrecks might be near
Yeah, exactly. Shipwrecks are honestly survival-island-over. Free wood, possible air pocket, treasure, a map to a chest of food and gear in most cases.
gotta go with Mesa. It's rare and all and it's got good resources for later in game but it's not very fun to spawn into.
Yeah, it's a tough biome to spawn in. The main concern is the lack of food sources, there is little grass and water so it's hard to grow wheat. It's also a big biome.

Mesa's are great for gold rush, but they suck as a starting biome for the same reasons a regular sandy desert would.
Mesas at least have dying woods and mineshafts and rivers. But they also have tougher surface blocks and greater and steeper heights.
Some would say swamps are the best biomes in the game, but I'd have to respectfully disagree with them
while it is true swamps have trees, they're also full of water, making it harder to build crop fields and villages.
In addition to this, if the water is 2 blocks deep or more, you'd be harassed by Drowned Zombies, not something you want at the start of the game because tridents do a ton of damage.
They're not the worst biome, but I'd consider them medium difficulty as far as starter biomes go.
They're not the worst, just mildly inconvenient and don't do you any favours on day 1.

Drowned zombies in java are unlikely to spawn in shallow water whereas in bedrock they are a real problem.
Swamps are convenient resource wise but not pleasant to navigate and easy to get lost in. They can also feel lonely at times. I don't consider them a 'center' biome i.e. one I'd set up base in. Would rather just go through them or use them as pit stops or facilities.

Best Thread
I hate any biome that doesnt have lot of flat area to build in
Couldn't have said it better myself.
So we're in agreement, generally, that plains biomes are the best to start survival.
I still play worlds that are varied in their biomes though, I'm not a fan of buffet world types.
Ocean buffets would be boring.
Maybe The ice spikes
- no items
-strays
-cant see
-kinda laggy
-SO BIG
Polar Bears also harass you if you go near them with cubs.
Definitely not something you want when you first make a world.
Because those polar bears could be hiding behind a section of ice spikes.
and if your hunger bar depletes far enough, which is more than a possibility in this biome, you can't sprint.
Recipe for a rage quit.

I hate creepers
I'm not a good player so I'll stick with my plains, thanks

My taste is easy resources and landmarks, and ability to see far away.
If not for tall grass, plains would thus be ideal.
