What is the highest object you have found in your worlds as you've explored? I always figured that mountains in the Extreme Hills areas were fairly tall at around y=115 or so. They were the tallest I'd seen since I started this world (began around 1.8 I believe, so before Anvil). Then I ended up finding a Jungle mountain with a giant, four block tree on the top. Easily the tallest I've seen the game generate so far, despite having run this world for quite a long time.
Damn you beat me. My own local tallest jungle tree is at y 136. I don't think it's possible to have anything else at that height honestly. Nothing beats giant tree on top of giant mountain. Still I'm sure we can find a tree that's higher than 144.
Likely, though that will take some looking. heh I've got a tonne of jungles, but haven't seen a taller tree yet. I'm sure I'll find something eventually, but that's a tricky one to beat.
I'm afraid I might have to take it down. It's real close to my wooden shack and the Diamond Empire requires a proper huge awesome forteress. It's in the way.
With the new taller hills in 1.3, I found a giant jungle tree that went up to y=141
Nice! I'm almost sure that there will one ones out there that could hit high 140s or even 150, but that's going to take some doing to find it (if its possible). Amusingly, the second tree in my picture, the one to the left, is about y = 137 on its own. Interesting to find two massive ones beside each other.
Hah. I wish I'd been able to see that. Spawned half trees would have been amusing. That was probably taken out not too long before I started playing.

Yeah. Sometimes there isn't enough flat land or something for a giant tree to spawn on top of the the hills, so finding two is pretty cool

I'd seriously consider making a house between them, but I don't really want to despoil them. I think I'd prefer to leave them alone and let them be up there.
Can anyone tell me how to find the seed on an already created world? I think I might just post mine here, since the area near the spawn where I built my home is essentially a huge plateau with an avreage height at 110ish. There are dozens of trees on it that reach 130s height. If you really want to spent time locating a super tall tree, help yourself to my world, as soon as I figure out where the seed is...
Question : Live in jungle hills. Does that means I have a chance of finding Emeralds around the place? Or do I have to go specifically to a "Extreme Hills" biome?

hit f3, it tells you near the bottom of all the info what the seed is (random bunch of numbers).

y = 144 for it.

(No idea how to just include the picture in the post.)
Found any other rather tall natural objects like that?
Nice one, though! y = 136 is pretty high as well.
They were quite humorous, truth to be told.
I am ninja'd far too often.

In more recent times i've seen a jungle tree atop a mountain at around Y=135
