I have built a "underwater" basement in the ocean. It isn't really a basement, but an underground room with some tunnels. I was wondering what the community thinks I should put in it.
Stuff added:
Brewing area
Cage(s)
Pet Squid/Iron Golem
Secret tunnel
Underwater base
Enchantment area
Storage area

I think a picture would be nice, so we can see the area of what we're working with. I suggest, however, that you should probably make it a storage room. Those always look nice in basements. Also, I suggest you check this, from the Wiki:

It has a lot of ideas and suggestions for people to do with their bases, and.. well, yeah. You might find something interesting in there to put in your basement.

I don't have an idea about what to put down there but what i like to do is put a checked pattern of birch wood and pine wood it ends up looking really cool

Hmm how would you make the door to your other basement secret? Obviously pistons and blocks, but how are you going to hide the switch?

Well, on my server I'm not allowed by the owner of the town (tehcniclly not allowed to but I could) use redstone. I simply put a block to hide the door. (ladder going up through the floor of basement 1).

Put a pet Iron Golem!

Throw your pets down there. >_>

You could put anything important, like diamonds or melon seeds in there, or extra items, in case a creeper blows up your main shelter or something like that. Basically it would be like a storage room.

Prison cells for those who thought you were their friend.

I would use it as a place to enchant or make potions.

Great ideas, keep them coming! Can we get more ideas other than a storage room?

A biome room. It's when you grow different biomes in that room and classify it.

I would suggest a little library. Of course, if you dont like books then that might not be a good option. Just dont forget the hidden lever for a secret room!
