So, I have this predicament. I'm making a 50 x 50 x 2 (50 wide, 50 deep, 2 high) room, in which I am planning to light. The lamps will be flush with the ceiling, and the wiring will be above the ceiling. What is the best way to place the redstone lamps so mobs will not spawn? If you can, make an ASCII diagram so I can see it better. Thanks a ton
The lamp light may not make it to the ground if they are on the ceiling 50 blocks up. Mobs only spawn on the ground, so as long as the ground has some lamps in it, you should be well protected against annoyances.

Chickens are spawning in my house! Help! PLEASE!
Your house has been compromised therefore you must blow it to hell.
Oh, derp, read wrong. Placement shouldn't be too hard then, because lamps cast a lot of light. If you're not doing it legitly, I think redstone running across the ceiling in rows would look cool. Like long fluorescent lamps. As for wiring, you can just run redstone over the lamps with repeaters. Increasing the delay on the repeaters will make the lights go on in a pretty cool way.

I will not be doing it in creative, but eventually I'll try that idea
