I just recently started up on a server and Found a nice spot to settle and build a house. there was an Enderman in the area close to where I was building. I didn't think much about it because I don't really feel the need to attack Enderman if unprovoked so I just let it be. I didn't notice it for a while. then, when I was farming, it was not to far from my house. I looked directly at it, during the day, and it teleported right up to me but didn't do anything. It startled me a little but I didn't attack. I've always been weirdly fond of the Enderman after that, it began to follow me closely. teleporting in and out of my house whenever I would come or go. I made an effort not to look at it so as not to aggravate it. we continued like this for at least an hour and a half until it started to rain. I stepped outside my house into the rain to retrieve my crops, and it followed me. It took some damage from the rain and teleported out of sight. It hasn't returned since, even though the rain has long since stopped.
Has any one had any similar experiences? If not, I advise you other players to not attack an Enderman on sight. In fact, try doing what I did and see if you get similar results. I would like to know if this was some sort of fluke or not.

I noticed something similar happening to me, but in a cave. I never looked directly at the Enderman, but he continued to teleport near me when I went to different areas of the cave. I believe this is a way of them taunting/scaring you. It's very effective since IMO, it forces you to kill them, since you don't want to accidentally look at them. Part of their upgraded AI from 1.8.
I've had all kinds of weird mob behaviors. By far the weirdest one was a zombie who was currently targeting me up and leaving the fight midway through. It literally just gave up and went off to do something else.

Yeah that makes sense. I've never noticed since I stopped playing survival until the recent updates. thanks for the info, though I'm a little disappointed because something along those lines would have been cool. As I said before, I don't bother Endermen when I see them and never will unless they attack me. It would be nice if maybe the team at Mojang would put in a more peaceful way of obtaining ender pearls directly from them. I seen some one else say this too.

Cool, crider, because that has been removed(and wasn't ever real) in almost every single MC version.

Remembered this thread; I had been outside no more than 10 mins ago, trying to test if an Enderman could see me with a Wither Skull on. At some point I ended up in a fight with two, I killed one but the other vanished. I replaced the skull with my helmet and when inside my base, where I found an Enderman which I made eye contact with accidentally but it didn't attack. I've also been trying to get screenshots of Enderman so I can build a giant one out of obsidian at my End Portal, so started attempting screenshots with this guy, who has now been in my base for almost an MC day, he only seems to teleport if I get right up close to him, or move a distance away from him. I dunno if I should tag him or something. Also, could I heal him with health/regen splash potions if he's damaged?
Dude so I just made a new server starting at taiga bay and like 5 minutes in I saw Enderman walking around with a bock of stone? So I quickly turned and walked in the other direction. I noticed him following me for a bit after that but I eventually lost him while hiding underground with my new dog.
So three Minecraft days later I'm in a cave mining iron and coal when I hear my dog, who is sitting maybe 10 blocks away and 4 down, start to whine. I turn and the Enderman with the block is standing in front of my dog, who is sitting and not attacking. Endermans upper body was blocked by some stone so I assumed he didn't notice me looking and turned to face the wall until he left
He didn't leave though, he killed my damn dog instead!! For no freaking reason!!! So I killed him.
I miss my dog. She was the only one I've seen the whole time I've been playing 😭
i play minecraft pe & just a few minutes ago, i was playing on a realm and i looked at an enderman and another one was close by & i was scared they were going to start attacking me so i turned around and they followed me? they were making weird noises and moving in weird patterns but they never left my side. they were just following me. my friend ended up killing them but it was really weird.
Endermen used to burn in sunlight, but as of this update, they instead randomly teleport around until they find a dark spot or despawn eventually. ... Enderman now stalks the player when aggravated.

I've had endermen stalk me from time to time. Usually when I'm building or unbuilding something. I think the loose blocks attract them.

I wish i would have thought of that. XP
Glitchy mobs maybe?
I don't think I had the enderman thing but.......there was multiple cases for me where I saw the spirit of mincraft, herobrine
