If you want clay to make bricks then I don't think Mesa biomes will help you but it you can use hardened clay (which can be dyed) then try these seeds in any version after 1.7.2. After 1.8.0 if you want Ocean Monuments.

This last one has trees and sugar cane in the river beds. There are also trees in the Mesa Plateaus.
There are no dangerous weapons. There are only dangerous people. R.A. Heinlein
If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.
Actually it makes perfect sense as I have said before. Clay is a common material, the minecraft creators just got it wrong have it only by rivers. I am fixing a mistake that they made a long time ago....
You are making the assumption that Minecraft takes place on Earth. That is a wrong assumption. The Minecraft world is many times larger than the Earth, so it's clearly another world altogether, where clay is not as common, and concentrated in certain areas.

But nice try anyway. Thanks for playing.
This would make perfect sense if the Minecraft world has diamonds spawning in the sky and purple water, yeah. No, the games generation of materials always tries to keep somewhat close to how it would be in the real world.
I dunno, any beachfront zone will typically have tons of clay. The only problem of course is that you generally need to mine for it at the bottom. With respiration 3, aqua affinity and depth strider 3, mining for clay is a breeze. You might also want some night vision and/or water breath extended potions.
That is, you want to make bricks. If you want various colored hardened clay, a single mesa biome can get you all the clay you need.
And for diamonds, a quick session of branch mining in layers 5-15, especially if using a fortune3 pick, can yield lots in a short time. The other day I went mining, mostly for iron and gold for railways. After about 2 hours, I had over a stack of diamonds among other things. The key is being efficient.
