i was playing skyfactory 2 (a modpack on the ATlauncher) when i noticed a skeleton under my mob grinder. this was strange because i highlighted spawnable spots in my base using F7 and there was nothing there. i have no idea what is going on, can you please help?
did you light up the top of your mob trap? I'm guessing a mob with feather falling enchanted armor spawned somewhere up there and then fell off...falling just far enough to destroy the armor while still surviving the fall.

Armor does not get damaged by fall damage; any damage source that is not reduced by armor has no effect even with enchantments (a similar myth is that Protection makes armor wear out faster, which is similarly not true). Also, I don't think mob armor loses durability except for helmets when in sunlight (the code seems to suggest this; their "damageArmor" method, used by standard attacks, is empty, and zombies have a method that specifically damages helmets when in sunlight).
I played sky factory 2 some recently and I get mobs under my mob grinder all the time. Special ones though I guess. All the vanilla ones die from the fall.
well, i have no idea where to post this.

world download (put it in skyfactory 2!): https://www.dropbox.com/s/nd9y6vsjjbc3b20/danielboxin's world.rar?dl=1
As human beings, we can teach, invent and discover, but if we can't do any of that we can at the very least be honest.
The simplest answer with no download at all- put a half-slab where it is.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
but they shouldn't spawn there in the first place! i put two torches there!
maybe they are glitching out of the farm, and in that case what am i suppose to do?

Put a half slab there, anyway. See what happens.

ok, three things:
one, they stopped. problem: fixed. by the way i didn't use slabs, they just stopped for no reason.
second, duhderp, yes i did lighten up the roof.
third, i still think it was glitching out of the mob farm. but i guess it doesn't really matter anymore as they stopped.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
