I'll share mine. I finally got a fortune 3 pickaxe after a whole week of trying. First thing I did of course was to take it branch mining at level 11 :). I had a very successful mining trip and got over 50 diamonds and a whole bunch of everything. I had just got back to the top of a ravine I'd climbed down when a skeleton shot me and the knockback threw me off the edge to my death, which would have been annoying enough, except that I died right next to a lava pool and half my items got thrown into the pool when I died. You can probably guess what got burned - all the diamonds, iron and redstone, plus the fortune 3 pick, my sharpness IV looting 3 sword, and my best armor. What got saved - cobblestone, granite, gravel, gold and lapis (uh, yay?). I actually had to restrain myself from deleting that entire world afterwards!
Anyone else care to share a frustrating moment that almost made them quit mc (for 24 hours....)?
Got my first diamond pickaxe and my friend wanted to borrow it so I let him and then he didn't give it back so I chased him around for like 15 minutes before he finally gave it back

Building a huge town and having the villagers congregate in a tiny little portion of it, and everything else I did to try to get the villagers to spread out. Eventually fenced the bastards in. Serves 'em right.
Before I had a bed made, getting killed by a gang of 6 zombies, 2 spiders and a witch, and respawning right back in the middle of the mob of MOBs. I got killed 6 times in a row.

Another one - the first ever stronghold I found had no end portal. The stronghold was bisected by a huge ravine so I assume the ravine deleted the portal.
Dying in the middle of a deep ocean biome, and of course never being able to retrieve my item, and losing many more items in my failed attempts to do so.

I've got one that centers around a mod. Specifically, it centers around ChocoCraft; it's one of my favorite mods, but the feature that this little experience came from can get very frustrating even though it can also be very fun and satisfying.
Some useful explanation for folks who aren't familiar with ChocoCraft is in this spoiler:
In ChocoCraft, you get new chocobos by breeding certain pairings of breeds; if the right breeds are paired, there is a chance that the offspring will be of a new breed that comes from that pairing instead of the breed of one of the parents.
Chocobos are bred by feeding a male chocobo and a female chocobo each one of the two 'breeding' varieties of gysahl greens: loverly gysahl and golden gysahl. Golden gysahl gives a higher chance of getting a new breed and is actually required for getting a gold chocobo.
The only chocobos that are found in the wild are yellow chocobos and the extremely rare purple (nether) chocobos. Breeding two yellow chocobos can give either a blue chocobo or a green chocobo (or, of course, another yellow chocobo). Breeding a blue chocobo and a green chocobo is the way to get the next breed.
I was breeding chocobos and trying to get a green chocobo. I bred my breeding pair of yellow chocobos over and over and still couldn't get a green chocobo. I really wanted a gold chocobo to make exploring easier (well, essentially effortless since gold chocobos are one of the breeds that can fly).
Because you need both a blue chocobo and a green chocobo (and of opposite genders, too; I had both male and female blue chocobos at that point, though, so the green chocobo's gender wouldn't have mattered) to get the breeds that come before gold.
I eventually ended up using the In-Game NBT Edit mod to make a baby chocobo green out of sheer frustration.
There hasn't been an entry in ChocoCraft's change log that mentions a fix for green chocobos not being produced, so I assume there was no glitch involved and I just had very bad luck with the breeding outcomes.
I'd say that's probably as frustrated as I've gotten in MineCraft.

When, instead of deleting my mod testing world, I deleted my 150+ hour survival world.
Yeah....
That's why you use backups, kids!

Sorry, but that's funny.
How'd you get out?
Finally I had the sense to just run away as fast as I could as soon as I respawned. I lost all my stuff, but at least I stayed alive.

A very similar situation happened to me. I now back up my world after every session of playing.

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
