A fairly simple challenge Well, I guess it's not simple anymore...:
Rules
1. You may NOT use any other tool than a Pickaxe.
As many of you may know, every tool is NOT required to thrive except for a Pickaxe. Shovels speed things up, Hoes for farming, Axes to speed things up, Swords to defend yourself better, but a Pickaxe, THAT's special.
2. EVERYTHING has to be mined with a Pickaxe, with the exception of Logs.
This, of course, is highly inefficient and will make several Minecrafters flinch as their OCD kicks in. Torture will surely slow you down >:^)
3. You can't mine stone.
This will add an unusual twist adding onto the hardness of this challenge and will force you to use your Cobblestone wisely, as you will need them to get Iron. Oh, and did I mention, this will cripple you in your Strip Mining? :smile.gif: (Use creepers!)
4. You may only mine Redstone, Obsidian, Gold, and Lapis with a Diamond Pickaxe
Now you need Diamonds before you can complete rule #5, which is next!
5. 'Stop with these horrible rules!' Well, alright, I'll give you a friendly rule: Once you aquire ONE Iron Block, ONE Gold Block, and ONE Lapis Block, you may break EVERY SINGLE RULE except for Rule #6, which is next!
This lasts until you lose one or more of these blocks. They must be placed down in a room. Think of this as the "End-Game" part of the Challenge. It'll take you a while to aquire all those valuable blocks though, so meanwhile, Enjoy the torture!
6. No Mods/Inventory Editors!
This rule is very obvious, this means no Single Player Commands or TooManyItems! If you do break this rule, then this won't be called the Pickaxe Challenge anymore, now would it?
Side-Note: It is highly recommended you read all the rules, with the Italic Text that comes with it, as it provides you with an In-depth description of the rule, and a few "flaws" that allow you to bypass them.
Achievements
Usually, the first achievement is "Make a farm" or something, but you CAN'T! Don't worry, just rubbing it in your face, :wink.gif:
1. Aquire 30
2. Aquire an Iron Pickaxe
3. Aquire a Gold Pickaxe
4. Aquire a Diamond Pickaxe
5. Aquire 64 Coal (Must have it in your inventory at one time, then you may use it up.)
6. Aquire 64 Iron Ingots (Must have it in your inventory at one time, then you may use it up.)
7. Aquire 9 Gold Ingots (Must have it in your inventory at one time, then you may use it up.)
8. Aquire 4 Diamonds (Must have it in your inventory at one time, then you may use it up.)
9. Make ONE of each: Lapis Block, Iron Block, and Gold Block. Then break rules 1-5!
10. Aquire 5 Stacks of Dirt. (I hope you don't have OCD....)
hey, your pickaxe challenge, EASY, did it in 3 days of, i'll admit, OCD torture. I can see why you created this. it was easy but fun, and by the way, i'm makeing an adventure map, it probably wont be done untill well after 1.9 but do you want to be a beta tester?
"You may only mine Redstone, Obsidian, Gold, Lapis, and Diamond with a Diamond Pickaxe"
That would mean you could never mine diamond or Gold to mine more stone.

Huh? I didn't fully understand your post, but I'll try to explain.
Rule #3 States you may mine up to 30 Cobblestone WITHOUT a Gold Pickaxe.
Make Furnace, Get Stone Pickaxes, etc.
A Diamond Pickaxe is limited. You may not mine just anything with a Diamond Pickaxe, but instead, you can only mine the specified ores (Redstone, Obsidian, Gold, Lapis, and other Diamonds).
Just make sure you conserve your Iron Pickaxe, then go into a cave and find some gold to mine more stone. OR you could be very clever and use your iron to make a bucket, then to make a Cobblestone Generator (Rule #3 says you can mine Cobblestone, but not Stone).
I just made this challenge SEEM very hard because of the limitation to mining Stone, but the "Flaw" to it is that you may mine Cobblestone instead. So, basically, rule 3 is almost useless. Just tricking your mind :smile.gif:
I'm not talking about the stone mining but rather your statement saying you may only mine diamond with a diamond pick axe.
If you can only mine diamond ore with a diamond pick axe, then where do you get the diamond to make that diamond pick axe pick axe?
I'm just saying that Rule 4 makes it impossible to get diamonds.
Sorry, I typed it out wrong. It was suppose to mean that only any pickaxe can mine those, but a Diamond Pickaxe is limited. I might as well remove that rule, since I have no idea how to re-word it. I just removed the "You need a Diamond Pick to mine Diamond" bit.

I'll try this out!
Thanks, and I was trying to avoid the Creeper-Blows-Up-Stone-For-You concept, so that's why I invented Rule 3.
Actually, I had thought up this idea while reading a Challenge post, which is pretty Ironic, lol.

I just read it, it's pretty unique! You also reminded me, I forgot to add Achievements into mine. I was wondering why my post looked so bland!
