Uh, so I was thinking of what I should do next. I was planning on doing some more domestic things, like making a farm for a better source of food or making a shaft down to the surface to make getting up easier... What do you think?
Domestic would be alright, but whenever I do that I end (no pun intended... at first lol) up not going to the end... Maybe for sure some more food, and enderman hunting, and more journeying through the nether to find the blazes!
Right, so I'll probably start it and post it on Tuesday, depending on my schedule.
And when that happens, I'll either edit this post or delete this one.
Yeah, sorry for no updates. For the past two days I felt horrible because I was a bit sick so I couldn't be bothered.
Chapter VI: 4.2 x 100 Blaze It
Alright, so getting up this mountain is a hassle. I have to do mini parkour every time I need to get up here, so I made it easier. I dug down to about the y coordinate where the ground was, then dug in two different directions, both directions in which I go the most often.
After I made that, I just decided that I'd go through the nether portal, travel a while, then see if I find anything. If I didn't, I'll travel a while in the overworld and make another portal. So, realizing that I had no more food, I just took my stack of about 47 rotten flesh and went. I also took about a stack of cobblestone and a few blocks of granite.
So I went to that path I made, and decided to finish it. I was thinking about not doing it though, since I heard something like three ghasts. But I finished it anyways, and this is the finished product.
So, after making the path, I went and explored the new terrain. Most of what I found was just zombie pigmen, netherrack, soul sand, and nothing worth talking about. But after a while, about 20 or 10 minutes of looking, I finally found this. I mean, I was hoping for more, but it's the best I've gotten so far.
So, I went down the intersection, and found that only one of the available four paths actually went anywhere. So, I went down that way, and found something like two wither skeletons. I knew that the could do a heck of a lot of damage, especially since I was playing on hard mode, so I was a bit more cautious than usual. I heard some blaze noises, so I knew there was at least one. I found it, and it was in it's own hallway. I killed it and didn't get anything. So, I just kept going, and eventually I heard a lot more blaze noises, so I knew either a lot spawned at once or there was a spawner. Sure enough, there was a spawner. I quickly got out my snowballs and went at the blazes. There, I found out that I probably needed more snowballs, since one blaze took something like 7-8 snowballs. So I just stayed at the spawner and took out any blazes at range by snowballs, and up close with my sword. I also ate the two golden apples I had at seperate times just so I had a bit more health. I stopped at about 5 blaze rods, then bolted it. I started to go and get out, until I saw that the only way out was blocked by a skeleton, a wither skeleton and a blaze. I went at them, and I was on fire and withered at the same time, so I knew it wasn't good. I sealed myself up in a small room until my health got back up. I managed to kill the blaze, which gave me another blaze rod.
After I healed up, I axed the wither skeleton and normal skeletons, then made a bolt for the exit. After I got out, I tried to find my way back, but I was a bit lost. The worst part was I was running out of food, so it wasn't a good time. I just went in the general direction of where I came from, and eventually after about 10 or so minutes I found the lava isthmus I made.
The only problem was that it was a bit lower, and I was a bit higher. Also lava. So, I just backtracked and tried to find a path to it, and eventually I found a little drop off, and I decided I'd take the chance and drop down to the ground and see if I'd live. Sure enough, I did, so I quickly went back to the lava isthmus and went across it, which the little hunger I had left. From there, I knew where the portal was.
After I went through the portal, I quickly walked back, and went up the ladder to the top of the mountain. I was finally home.
After that, I went and took whatever food was in the chest and ate it. I then decided that I'd go and take some food from the villager's farms, so I went over there. On the way, there were tons of pigs that I killed and got a lot of pork chops from. When I got to the village, I found that the crops hadn't grown at all since the last time I saw them. So, I took what I could at quickly went back. I smelted the pork chops, and had a nice meal of pork. And for the first time in about 30 minutes, I was calm.
Do you have anything to say about this? Do you have any suggestions? Feel free to comment!
I'll make a journey to a place we've been to before later. But, now, it's time to handle a problem that I had last time.
Since this update is pretty small, I'm probably going to merge this with future content that will probably be made later tomorrow. At least tomorrow where I live. (Midwest)
Chapter VII: A Domestic Problem
Well, after almost starving, I think it's pretty obvious what to do. I don't think that minuscule farm will sustain me for the time that I will need food. So, there's a lot of space around the area, so the plan will be to flatten out this area to make space for the farm I'm planning to make.
So, I flattened out the area, cutting down the trees and breaking my axe in the process. After I flattened out the area, I went and gathered a lot of seeds from the nearby area. There was plenty of grass to break, so I broke grass for about 4 minutes until I got a reasonable amount of seeds. I got about a stack of seeds, then went to work. I took the wood that I cut down and made them into fences. I fenced in a small area, then placed some water in two holes and tried to make the farm as water efficient as I could. I didn't bother making a fence gate, so I just placed some blocks, which required a player to sprint jump in and out of the farm. No other mob could get in, possibly a spider with a speed potion effect, but what is the chance that I'll find that?
I noticed some nearby cows and sheep, so I decided to make little fenced off areas for them. I went and made more fences and made some carpet for entering and exiting the pens. I found some wheat in the chests, so I led them to two little fenced areas I made and fenced them in. Then I bred them.
Then, back on the top of the mountain, I found some saplings in the chests and some that I got from cutting down trees, so I decided to make a small tree farm. 'Cause why not.

2 villages already, lucky. I had a tough time finding just one. Other times I spawn right next to one, just depends on the world I guess. Keep the updates coming I want to see more.
Since there's so much happening in this one, I'll just make it a different chapter.
Chapter VIII: Nonexistent
I'm not patient. That's an issue I've always had. So, instead of waiting for this slow ol' farm to grow, I'm just going to see what stray animals I can find around the area. I found some sheep, and and my hands slipped and I ended up in the village. There were tons of pigs around the area, so I caused a pig holocaust. Eventually, it became nighttime, so I stayed out on the outskirts of the village to find some enderman if I could. I didn't find any endermen, but I did find plenty of skeletons, creepers and zombies. A skeleton actually accidentally shot a low health creeper and killed it, giving me a brand spanking new music disk. After I got the music disk, I went into one of the villager houses and cooked all the pork I had in my inventory. After that, it became early morning, so I headed home.
After that happened, I decided that I would go look for something that I eventually needed to find anyways. So, I took from the blazes and the endermen and went out.
The first ender eye went towards the desert, so I kept on going for a while, then threw another ender eye. It went in the same direction, so I kept going for a long time until it eventually led to an ocean. The ender eye then led to the ocean, so I knew it was one of those types of end portals. So, I made a boat then sailed into the endless ocean.
I went looking for a good half-hour, and even saw a familiar looking portal.
Eventually after a few minutes of searching, I found that the ender eye went down below the waters, so I then knew where the stronghold was. Finally.
I knew that strongholds can have the end portals in strange places, because in the last stronghold I explored on this server I also played on (i didn't fight the ender dragon yet on that server, don't worry) it took me a good 20 minutes to find the portal. I went looking for the portal, but no room with an end portal was found. The area I was in was actually pretty small, so I was wondering if this was the entire stronghold. I looked harder and harder, even digging in the walls, eventually after five minutes I found another area of the stronghold after digging in the direction of some noisy spiders.
I looked around that area, too, but no luck. No end portal. just dead ends and undead mobs. Eventually I found a room with a water fountain, and in this specific spot, I heard some bubbling lava. I knew that the end portal room had lava, so I mined the heck out of the area, breaking several pickaxes until I realized it was just a small, misleading lava pool. I cleared it out, and found some more stone bricks in a wall, so I mined through them only to find an already explored room. I looked and looked, but there was no luck. I eventually dug through a wall in a direction of some more noisy mobs and water, and found a cave. I kept on following the cave until I saw some more stone bricks, and when I dug through them, I found the library.
In that room, there were only cobwebs and books. Not even an upstairs expansion. So, I left the room, and eventually found another expansion to the stronghold. Sheesh.
And that led to another expansion, this time two rooms.
The above section lead to a room with mobs a plenty, but only dead ends. The bottom section only lead to a thin crawlspace. So, I just locked myself in a small crawlspace and snapshotted the co-ords. Man, that portal is hard to find. Maybe I just got a bad stronghold. It's almost like the end portal and the room are nonexistent.
Do you have anything to say about this? Do you have any suggestions? Feel free to comment!
Your experience with the stronghold is typical for cases when they generate in the ocean, since the game avoids generating any parts that intersect water or lava (including underground lakes, and for very deep strongholds lava in caves) - however, the portal room will always be generated, in extreme cases only a single isolated room in the middle of an ocean (e.g. use the Superflat preset Water World with strongholds added). This also applies to strongholds generated in the air (caves don't actually cut through them, rather, the game only replaces non-air blocks when placing walls, in any case you still have the interior parts, unlike the liquid check).
Normal strongholds are often bugged though; I've come across suspicious-looking buttons embedded in a wall, with no door - until I mine it, exposing a door and more of the stronghold on the other side, this happened twice in the last stronghold I found; I didn't even find the second section until much later, after I explored caves around it. Some rooms can also overlap and cut themselves off, even though the game tries to avoid this.
Also, in my experience Eyes of Ender should lead you directly to the portal room as long as the chunks were generated in the same session; there is a bug where the game uses the actual starting point (a spiral staircase) instead of the portal room's location after it has saved the data (deleting Stronghold.dat will temporarily fix this with no issues as far as I can tell, unless you changed versions, e.g. 1.6.4-1.7.2).

Yeah, the ender eyes led me to exactly this point here, where I'm standing. I even threw another one just to see if it led to another room, and it just hovered in the place where I'm standing in this picture.

1.9! That will probably be 6 months minimum. Why not head in an opposite direction from your base and look for a different end fortress?

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
