To all of the people telling me about other methods of 1-Clocks, like Pulsers, keep in mind that they are hard to control. I was trying to also show a bit about my system.
Anyway, I think that the easy 1-Clock tutorial will come first, as otherwise I would have to explain it again for the flower farm tutorial.
And also to those suggesting 5-Clocks, this seems like a good option. Hence the fact that you can use both in my design. You can even use a 3-Clock if you wish. However, which is the most efficient is a good question. I find that the 1-Clock preforms noticeably better than the 5-Clock. However, a 2-Clock should have half as much redstone-induced lag, which would be helpful.
So I tried to build it myself, but for some reason, it won't work anymore. The redstone dust is 1 block under the grass blocks that I use bonemeal on, and they pulse rapidly on and off, but I can't use the bonemeal on the grass, for some reason. A bonemeal is used up, there's plenty of space, but nothing gets planted, and I get no item drops. If I add sufficient light, then it works, but then it won't automatically pop out of the ground.
What's going on?
I'm not sure, honestly. If nothing at all is being placed when you use bonemeal on grass, then something is wrong...
The only thing I could guess would be a mod interfering... I tried using my flower farm, and it still works fine.
By the way, could you show the exact tutorial on how to make that thing? I'm also curious about the 1-clock.
I've been pretty busy with studying for finals, as it's almost the end of the year. I have a cold, so I am unable to make a commentary.
Anyway, I will try to get a basic tutorial of it up within a few days.
Edit: Whoops, forgot to talk about your problem! This sounds weird, as the bonemeal should grow grass in the dark, but apparently it isn't, if I understand correctly.
I bet this will be fixed in 1.7 so you better hurry up :smile.gif: (depending on when is 1.7 going to be released ofc)
The only way he can nerf it without breaking even more game mechanics [block updating] is by lowering the produce bone meal generates, and either way I have enough bonemeal to replenish the South American rain forests.
They do. But, keep in mind that they cannot spawn within 24 blocks of you, and the flower farm is completely containined within a fence. Thus, spawned mobs will be stuck.
If you are playing with mobs, I suggest placing torches when the system is not in use.

I'm totally speechless. It was as if it was raining plants.

Although I do understand how to build one of these. :smile.gif:

I'm pretty sure that he meant simpler as in less redstone. (None in fact.)
I believe that it would be possible to make Etho's Greenhouse on the first day.

This would be smaller than the huge machine, would it work the same?
You Sire are my king.

Now I got enough things to do with all the bonemeal I had ^^

Cool, I hope this won't be removed any time soon.
