So I just started playing minecraft not to long ago, I don't know why I waited.
I started playing on ps3, than switched to the real version on PC once I got my funds up to buy the game.
But my question I have is.
I just planted a watermelon garden along with carrots, and potatoes, all underground.
The carrots and potatoes are growing fast, and amazing.
But I think I did something wrong with the Melons.
It seem's they're not growing right or I'm missing something?
I have the garden on block 13 from bedrock on the bottom, the whole garden is lit up with glow stone that I got from the nether, but my melons are a greenish/Yellow color. I'm wondering if that's normal with the glowstone lighting.

You need dirt next to each sapling in order for the melon itself to grow. I'm not sure if that is the problem; the wood seems to be in the way. If you are referring to the fact that the saplings are "growing" the same melon, you need to spread the melons out a little bit or put them down in a column.
Thank's for the help, and yes the wood was in the way, and I figured out because they look all nasty yellowish green is because of the glow stone lighting
You have to make blood sacrifices in the soil - either with a domesticated animal, a mob (not skeletons ofc) or yourself. Make sure to use a ritualistic stone sword, it must be named EXACTLY : "Ritual Plunger".
Do this and not only will your melons look better, but they will grow faster! Good luck friend, be safe.

Don't listen to this clown(no offense) but from what I can tell it has to do with the biome your are in. What biome are you in? Glowstone lighting has nothing to do with it.

I'm not sure if you are trolling or not. He wasn't literally asking if that is how they were supposed to look.
