They think that Minecraft is a scam. I've told them that it has been reviewed by official gaming sites and it has been bought by almost 2 million people. However, when they saw it in euros they thought it wasn't trustworthy. How can I give them proof that Minecraft is %100 legit? I tried a pre-paid debit card but it said it wasn't valid. So.....yeah. Help.
EDIT: Just to tell you guys nothings happening soon like a birthday or anything and I'm paying for it myself, I just don't have a credit card.
I've already done that. Doesn't that go along with being reviewed by official gaming sites? I remember somebody mentioning in another forum something about HTTPS and meaning that the site was secure but I couldn't find it and can't really remember anything about it. I NEED Minecraft. I want to play it soooo much and waste soooo much time on it. Well, it won't be wasting time for me but...
I would get new parents that understand international commerce.
That too. Just because something is foreign doesn't mean it's a scam.
Somehow my dad literally goes across the world and deals with computers for his job but somehow he thinks Minecraft isn't trustworthy. I've tried offering more money than what it costs but he still didn't want to do it.
How bout going onto Minecraft classic and showing them the free version? I dunno just a suggestion, if that doesn't work then start chanting "The power of Notch compels you!" until your parents give in a buy the game xD

"They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I told them I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard."
Bring them to this forum so they can see all of us telling you that it isn't a scam. There's also Notch's development blog so you can show them that it IS a game.
If worse comes to worse, show them the seananners LP of it. That should win them over.
i'd show them some of the news reports about minecraft instead of gaming sites... if they're like my parents when you try to show them a game site they get that blank stare, mouth open, "what the hell am i looking at" face... since you're trying to convince them that it's all legit it would probably be best to use reports from what they would consider reliable sources... well known magazines, newspapers, etc... i'd say you best bet would be something like the stuff about teachers using minecraft as a teaching aid... people wouldn't be cool with their kids playing it in school if it wasn't legit and educational... try this report from forbes http://blogs.forbes.com/alexknapp/2011/04/05/using-minecraft-as-a-teaching-tool/

Tell them to stop being so ****ing stuck up. Show them this post. Show them how people like Seananners and Hutch and other youtubers have this game, and are fine. Show the forum. Show reviews. If that doesn't work, steal their mother****ing credit card. If that doesn't work, tell them repeatedly that there is no way it is a scam. Just keep annoying them and they'll give in.

That explains that it's in euros but I'm pretty sure that they already know that Notch lives in Europe.....

I think it was the fact that I said "I'll pay for it, just type in your credit card thing"..
Nah, seriously.. It took me about a hour of me telling him about the game, and the fact that when I bought it was still only like 12$.
Oh my goodness this is 100% proof that Minecraft is legit. I'll tell them that stormtrooper96 said it was okay and they'll even buy it themselves.
Agreed.
Or, "I'll give you the money in cash, but just type in your Credit Card **** here."
If worse comes to worse, show them the seananners LP of it. That should win them over.
I remember my mom thought it was a scam- she thought 'Markus Persson' was a fake name meaning 'Mark us as a person'. She has a wild imagination.
