Hey so i have been making a house in a cave (hill) but when I go in I hear this weird nose its scary like you might here in pitch dark areas. Its not really a cave a hill kinda but do you thing there is a cavern under me cuz I would love to go down there. No its not ETC (lol pig)
Yeah, there are probably caverns below (or possibly above) you. If you only hear one type of mob, it might even be a dungeon with a mob spawner in it. Go spelunking. It's fun (but bring a sword).
Unzip the texture pack to a temporary directory, and open it in a terminal. Some packs unzip all texture files to a subdirectory. If so, enter the subdirectory too. Run "zip -rf ~/.minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar *". You can now delete the temporary directory.
Whenever one tries to open minecraft.jar, one gets this message:
Quote from Java »
Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from
C:\Users\Dorb\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
Any help would be appriciated!
This should only happen if the file it mentions is corrupted. I would recommend deleting it. This should trigger a re-download when you next start minecraft.
Edit: Oh, sorry, I thought you were trying to run the game.
You can dig through rock with your fists, it will not drop cobblestone. You can use this to create stairs to the surface. If you can't see you might want to try changing the brightness of your monitor.
If all that fails several of the editors found in the modding and mapping section can move a player.
How do I reclaim ore blocks. I created several using ingots but when I went to reclaim them with my pick they just disappeared. How can I reclaim them?
what is the proper pick to reclaim steel ore or gold or blocks. I am not talking about btw I am talking about the ones that are like (but steel or gold)
Ok first, I think it is called Iron and not steel (But I am not sure anymore cuz I just saw an austrialian review and they said steel. But iron pick should be enough I believe. If you are in SMP, then it could be lag. If you are in SP, a steel pick should be able to dig out diamond, gold and iron BLOCKS (The ones crafted with 9 diamond/iron/gold ores)
That is kinda lame, so in order to reclaim my blocks I have to wear down my steel pick or daimond pick? Why can we not just harvest the thing regularly as it is merely storage medium?

Well you can always simply make a large chest. And also iron can always be found through various methods of mining/spelunking.
You don't have to dig everything with the iron or diamond pick. Use stone picks to dig through the rock. Then when you find an ore that needs iron/diamond pick switch to that pick and mine it. Then switch back to the stone pick and continue mining with stone.
By doing this you save your iron and diamond for when you need it.
There seems to be a misunderstanding. I am not talking about ore viens. I am talking about the block you can craft using 9 iron ingots. I repeat I am not talking about mining ORE I have a vault in my place where I took my 9 ingots and crafted 1 block.
I was mining when the ground beneath me gave way to a huge dark cave which I am now stuck inside and can't see around. Is there a way to force myself to respawn or die? or perhaps theres a way I can change my lighting settings for long enough to get myself to safety?

You are double clicking it, you need to right click it and select open with winzip/winrar/7zip (which ever one you use)
Common mistake, by the way. Should probably be added to the faq.

NBTedit I believe does this.
Someone heeded my plea.
To you sir, I tip my hat.
P.S. Sorry for the late post, crap happened the last few weeks.
5 year olds play this, profanity need to be kept low.
You *******.

like this.
I then stacked them in a vault I made.
If you want the block you placed back, you should probably use InvEdit to reclaim it. It's a bit unfair to have to use a tool to pick those up.
wait **** wrong button, wanted to click edit
