What do you do with your first shelter and the stuff in it after you move out of it?
Whenever i start a world I gather wood and go look for a small cave or dig a hole to live in. I then go gather materials until i get an idea for my house, and then i start building it, but verrry sloowly. Sometime in there i come across a gigantic cavern and find diamonds, redstone ect and put it in my chest. Then the day finally comes when my house is finished and turn my first shelter into a memorial and keep all my valueables there for protection(i dont want a creeper spawning when i sleep) and it works fairly well.
Now im curious what you guys do with your shelters! keep them? blow them up? fill with lava? only use your first shelter??? TELL ME!
Gather wood, build a stylish wooden rectangle. Corners removed for both economical and aesthetic purposes!
In this I place a bed, workbench, furnace, and use this as my base of operations. I mine for a while, and begin building elsewhere once I have excess stone and iron. I usually keep the original home with the beds, and a few chests full of stuff. In my current world, my first shelter now has red carpet (clearly an important feature), windows/skylight, two wolves, three small chests full of crap, two furnaces and two beds.
I like to build a small 5x5 hut out of wood, and expand from there. I don't normally plan out my buildings, so they end up looking like sh*t. Okay, I take that back. My main survival map's hut expanded into a pretty cool castle.
When I spawn a new world, I usually walk to the top of the highest nearby hill and make that my permanent starter-base, so my first little hut ends up getting dismantled and built over once I get the cobblestone rolling in
havent moved out of my first shelter yet. ive expanded it into a fort, dug a mineshaft to bedrock which branches out all over the place, built a couple secondary entrances and rooms. built a secondary fort half a days run away. got a shack over my primary spawn point in case i die at night. but i havent abandoned the first shelter yet.
if/when i do move out i expect i will just abandon it. but i wont know for sure until it happens.
