So I'm considering making a 1:1 scale model of either the Final Fantasy 6 or 7 world, WITHOUT MC EDIT but with INVedit. Yes that's right, an entire world including all dungeons and rooms.
I was just wondering a few things:
If this is at all plausable?
Texture pack/Block recomendations for those who know the colour themes of either FF?
Quick building techniques, without the aid of MC edit?
How to plan out something as big as this?
And if anyone wanted to work on seperate parts of the world and MC edit them in later?
Also I welcome any tips/ideas regarding this project.
In my signature there is a link to a thread called The London project or St.Pauls Cathedral...
That's a 1:1 scale of a giant building and area so I guess I can give you some tips and tricks...
-Start out by figuring out how big this whole area is (I've never played Final Fantasy so don't ask me)
-Make a custom flat grass map for yourself with some custom stuff if that's your type of thing (The map needs to be a giant rectangle or a giant square...figure this out at step one)
-Start out by making a one block high frame...of EVERYTHING! When I started this building I first made a frame of the area, a frame of the cathedrals walls, etc and a frame for the environment
-Start to make your frame 3D. Raise IMPORTANT sections of your frame such as giant buildings like a cathedral, towers, walls, etc
-Start building the little parts of your build such as entrances, etc
-Continue to do this for everything and take a break once in a while to make fun things like houses!
-Get some minions to help you...people you can show an example to and do repetitive work; but make sure to ask their opinion too and let them help you with out more fun parts of the build...They are still humans!
-Try drawings some things before starting so you have an idea of what you wish to do
-Colour code your frame so you have some understanding of the final build etc. Leaves are environment parts like trees, leaves, etc. Red for houses...etc
-Take a break...My project is STILL being made and I recently expanded the length of the cathedral so it could reach the 1:1 I wanted that I couldn't achieve when I had it on the WoM server or after I dumped the map and didn't have the server commands.
-Have some fun!
