Actually, only one was proven wrong. And I admitted it.* The rest of them were proven correct.
Spiders. Can't. Climb. Soul Sand. Go and try it yourself if you must.
Spiders can climb soul sand, Just tested it for myself, in Survival Single Player, vanilla Minecraft, 5 block high wall of soul sand, spiders have no problem whatsoever climbing it, they don't even climb it any slower than any other block.
Please, do not post incorrect information as fact.
... I've tested it extensively myself, standing on top of similarly sized walls, and seen spiders jump at it helplessly for several minutes. Why would we be getting different results?
It's vanilla as far as I know. I suppose later today I might delete and redownload just to be sure of that. A question does occur to me, though... Are you using fancy graphics or fast? It DOES cause some differences in mob spawning behavior. That might be the cause of the discrepancy.
21. Is incorrect. Notch himself said spiders can't climb sandstone and thats the ONLY block that they can't climb.
62. Is also wrong. You now CAN store it there.
I use fancy graphics, I have noticed spiders acting weirdly around my soul sand, not attempting to climb it at times... However, I have seen very clearly spiders climbing up 5 blocks worth of soul sand at a normal speed just as though it were a normal block...
I think perhaps neither of us have researched this far enough, as you might have noticed, soul sand has weird characteristics... when you step on it, your character sinks slightly into it, just by a bit, perhaps when used as a wall this "sink" acts as a ledge... meaning spiders can climb solid soul sand structures, but it depends on other blocks around them... I'm not quite sure... I have 2 Jack a lanterns at the base of my soul sand wall so looking straight at it, it looks like this.
Where = soul sand and = jack o lantern.
Perhaps the jack a lanterns give the spiders the ability to climb the soul sand? I have seen spiders jump against the wall and not climb it, or not even attempt to climb it, but I have also seen them climb the wall perfectly, this happens on the sections of wall starting with the jack o' lanterns...
Just MCedited a room with a spider spawner and a big soul sand wall, and witnessed something... interesting. At first, they just sat there at the bottom. Even when I shot arrows at them they would not climb the wall. Then I put a TORCH at the top of the wall and tried it again... They ran up like lightning. So I figured, "Hey, they can only climb soul sand if there's light" and destroyed the torch. Only to find they were still climbing.
I think as a general rule, Mobs are attracted to light sources and as a POSSIBLE rule, spiders don't tend to climb soul sand, but yes, they are completely capable of doing it, I withdraw my prior comment. In my main world, they continue to seem to avoid it, but believe me when I say I have some work to do re-spiderproofing my base.

Notch has never said that and it is patently untrue. Tested it when I saw your comment. There, they didn't even need a light source to attract them.
Wow, That's odd, I'd have never have thought it had anything to do with light... Nice investigating.
For all I know, it doesn't. It's like... You know that old Kiershar lava game, where you put lava next to a ledge and dig out behind it and the lava just sits there, not pouring into the obvious hole... And then you activate redstone next to it and the block resets, dumping the lava down properly?
It is POSSIBLE that the mobs are attracted to light, and it's possible that the wall being constructed in MCEdit made it so that it wasn't registering properly as climbable until something like the change in light levels made it reset and function properly. Or maybe it WAS registering properly as not being climbable and the change in light levels made it reset and NOT work properly.
I don't know anywhere NEAR enough information to establish a proper control experiment... All I know is that I have proof soul sand is not spider-impregnable under all circumstances, as I had envisioned. It'd be nice if someone who knew anything about programming could glance into the code and see whether it's supposed to stop them or not.

I knew Reeds would be changed to something useful one day, so I farmed a ton of them. Now I'm set for delicious cake.
I also didn't know that once cake is placed, you can't pick it up again. Waste of a cake
Also thanks for the fences-chickens bit, how do I stop them from getting into my wheat farm then?
build a wall surrounding your farm and remove traces of grass.
On topic: sneaking across your farmland will not trample your crops?
Sigh. I'm not sure why we're hung up over the bucket thing. People have proved it true, let's move on.

Every rule has an exception, and you sir, are one of those exceptions.
...unless you take other precautions against falling in lava while digging straight down, like never digging straight down below layer 12.

Finally, someone who's confident enough to post information without actually testing it!
Just what this forum needs!

In any case, probably safer to assume it's not.
The bucket gets destroyed when used to power a furnace. I checked to make sure.

16. When you have diamonds in your inventory, you WILL fall into lava within five minutes. This is a proven fact.
Those 2 made me chuckle.

And number 2 just sounds like something an uneducated person would say.
