So I made a channel system around my house and it drops everyone into one hole. I have a standard flowing water, lava on top stopped by ladders and signs killbox. I also have cactus on each side of the single stream of water after that. But this has no effect on chickens or pigs. Once I tried to force the flow downward while putting a cactus in their face so they would have to die. However, this just made the loot from the previous mobs all get stuck at the bottom. So for now I just have no choice but to let them through. Is there anyway to kill them without hindering the other mob loot from getting to the collection point?

2x2 hole they drop through:
lava on top, flowing water with one water source block in the furthest corner from the exit hole (1x1). under the ladders is only one opening (1x). cactus here is for spider kills:
after the 1x1 hole, a 1 level drop
afterwards a 2 level drop with 2 cacti on both sides
okay I added images of what I'm working with. It's hard to tell what's going on but anyways any better options? All creatures aside from chicken and pigs die in this.

Hostile mobs can climb up ladders (its true i tested with zombie only though) so have a pit where they land, then a close quarters grinder and collection point to kill all hostile mobs, but leave all friendly

alright hang on. I can totally redo the killbox if there is a better method. Right now I have everyone dropping through a 2x2 hole.
I would rather get all mobs from the grass blocks if possible.
