You got to understand how hard it might be to code all of these thing you guys want. What if Notch is working on mod support every day and just acting like he's on vacation and stuff, but just can't figure out an good way to implement something? Then again, he could be just "dicking around." Maybe he may not read all the things we say, maybe he does, but you really have to understand that he is just one human, taking on at least a million people's words and opinions.
I do however, think he should be more professional, like act like he is talking to adults. From a developer, I do not expect to see "Texting Language" (ex. Mah :sad.gif:) I like to assume the best though, and hope he is just trying to get things to work properly.
-EDIT- I forgot to say a certain something. This is Notch's game, he can do whatever he wants with it. As far as business is concerned, you are just going along with what he does. Sure, mods add to something he has not, but that does not necessarily mean that he wants certain mods in the game. I do not think he should prepackage mods into the game, but at least provide some support for them. I also think that he should realy care less about the modders, they took the risk, time, and effort, so there really can be no argument. Don't get me wrong and let like everybody get mean to them, but they are below Notch if you know what I'm saying.

my god i love you. that is wat im talking about!! but these twitter trolls wont stop!
I do agree that Notch could do some mod support. And he could definitely add some of the more popular mods into the game itself. You were using Mo's Creatures and I'd go with it officially in the game rather than having to have someone else code it for the reasons you gave in your video. I do very much agree with A LOT of points made in this video.
Wah wah wah it's so hard to code wah wah wah. Cry me a river.
The game's popularity has boomed ever since alpha causing an overflow of cash coming into his pockets, so basically all this time he could've hired professionals to code for him. Yes, professionals: people who do this kind of stuff for a living.
Maybe I should watch the entire video, but I'm at work, and quite frankly, I stopped watching at the mention of something as trivial as leaf decay, like it was the end of Minecraft as we know it. Maybe I'll watch it in it's entirety when I get home, but from what I heard up until then the commentator seemed pretty uninformed about what was going on (how was 50% of what was promised in the Halloween update not delivered? All I remember was lanterns, and that's all the commentator mentions).
zyzzyva is another member of the Church of Notch
If you're going to counter the argument, at least make some real points
Notch can afford to pay people to do more for the game now
Instead, he's doing less than he used to do
The game should be improving more than it used to than less :sleep.gif:
I do agree with some of the points the video is making. I personally would like to see more updates, more implemented features, mobs, items, et cetera. It is rather annoying that a bunch of stuff in the Halloween update didn't get thrown in and I do feel that the game going into beta was a little premature.
However...
I don't think that it takes nearly twenty minutes of complaining to get that point across. Nearer to the end of it, the guy is saying how he hates whiny, stupid teenagers yet he's coming across as much of an ignorant ass as the strawmen that he creates. Throughout the video he throws a number of insults without any real backing to them and in one case he blatantly makes **** up (how Notch is "snippy" to responses to updates). The commentator fills in the massive gaps of time between points with his personal complaints about how great the game could be, how Notch should be doing this, should be doing that. And while yes, I would like to see more work being done, the fact that we're not hovering over his shoulder doesn't necessarily mean that the guys at Mojang are just dicking around rubbing money all over themselves.
And of course, I don't want to type out the same old arguments about how making a game is not just adding new shiny things and it's harder than it looks, and especially how Notch isn't actually a millionaire as the narrator just loves to point out. But just because they're used a lot doesn't make them empty.
One last thing, don't pull the obvious "exasperated" siiiiiiiiiigh so often. You sound like a self indulgent hipster.
I honestly can't tell if you're serious or not with the amount of sarcasm you use to throw your point around.
I really want you to revise and rethink this video after you check all available websites that notch posts information on.
On the Hey0 discussion: I believe that he doesn't use/like Hey0's Mods because it takes away from part of the game. Take /home, for example. It's like using /movetoqt in Oblivion: it's totally pointless and ruins some of the fun in the game. Some of the commands in Hey0's are really just unneeded. I myself host a server and have no problems playing vanilla. I think notch's idea with minecraft online was to play with your friends privately, not to advertise a server with a 50 person limit. My server works great for myself and my friends and I see no problem with multiplayer as of now besides a few glitches. I don't even pay my own internet bill, my parents do. They don't see a problem with me hosting a simple server to play online with a few friends. Now, if I were to post a topic on the multiplayer section of the forums saying: "Zomg epic commandz every1 op and sht its so cool just spawn anything lawl- 100 player limit", they'd probably have a problem with it. Which brings back the point that I really don't think the multiplayer was designed for massive amounts of people playing online at once.
In all honesty, commands ruin the fun of most games after an hour or two, instead of the game lasting ALOT more than 2 hours of fun time. Notch doesn't spend ALL THE TIME on Minecraft as you'd expect (as if YOU would if you were making the game). Were you ever doing homework and decided that you need a break. This can be related with Notch and coding Minecraft. He really doesn't have to code it at all, and he really doesn't have to listen to the community at all. Point being, let him work at his own pace.

And that's your opinion. Among my group of friends on my server, the loss of hmod and the /home command was a horrible tragedy. We don't want to waste our time traveling when working on projects. There's also the copious amount of plug-ins available for such server mods that enrich the gamer's experience.
And that too, is your opinion.
Which is obviously the problem, everyone has different opinions. However the opinion of the guy making the game is that he'd rather make the game more difficult than easier. And it does take away the immersion factor that I think Notch is going for if you can just teleport around and spawn whatever you like.
When the game is done and stable though, everyone'll be free to use whatever mods they like.
This thread is wilting as we speak; it will be missed.
It came into existance, good enough for me. I didnt make the video to adress every detail of Notch's work with hard evidence and facts, and to "put him in his place", But to get across my perspective on the situation to my fanbase, and to get others to expand my knowlage and understanding with their opinions, perspective, or facts.
I dont spend every day of the week looking through notch's twitter to see every tidbit of information, and i wasnt going to just to make sure i was 100% correct with everything i had to say. I didnt intend it for this forum, But im glad someone felt strongly enough to spread it. If someone came out of the wordwork and said, "hey, look at this tweet, because of reason "Blah", I would give it a look and if it was legit slamming my point into the dirt, id be thankful for that and correct my view accordingly.
I guess in a nutshell the video was meant to say: "heres why i think what i think and why i think it at the moment, and comments like "stop talkin bout notch tht way yooh bch" result in blocks." But i get sidetracked, what can i say.
OT: I half agree with you.
On one hand, Minecraft is probably not the best coded or configured game. It has ****loads of errors, glitches, problems. But on the other hand, it's not the easiest game to code probably. It's more like, add some ******** and spend more time on something they care about, or give them what they want and have it buggy as **** and end up breaking 10 things in the process of fixing it.
I agree this site has alot of 12-14 year olds running it, but most of them are smart. I'm only 16 (not that smart, though). All the mods are great, but the game can get quite laggy.
I agree Notch could spend less time ****ing around on vacation. Not that many excuses for that one...
Great video and points, though.
I want everyone who has a twitter account to spam this video to Notch until he finally looks at it. This guys spoke his opinion which obviously a lot of people are going to agree with, especially modders who whip their ass to code their mods every update. Please, tweeters, deliver this message to Notch.

Yeah...... no
The modders don't have to code, they code for themselves and for some other people that want the same thing.

Honestly, i wouldnt want that. I'd rather just wait and let time flow on by and see if Notch starts spamming us with great content at great speeds on his own, Not because of public pressure or anything. {not that it would even move him in the slightest anyways, Least i don't think it would}
It would be more interesting that way.
MOD EDIT: No bumping.
HE IS RICH
Notch is fully able to hire professionals so the game can be further improved, but did he? No.
Should he? Yes.
