I'm running OS X 10.6.5 and haven't shut down my MineCraft session from yesterday, so it hasn't upgraded to beta, yet. I'd like to make a backup of the 1.2.6 version so I can try the beta and go back if I see any of the show-stopper problems I've read about.
I've backed up my save files, I'm not worried about those right now.
I've got a minecraft.app application in my games folder. Judging from what I've read, it's basically a shell that runs minecraft.jar from the Application Support/minecraft/bin directory. Do I need to back up everything in that bin directory, or everything (other than saves) in that minecraft directory? Is there anything in any other directory that I'll need?
I know that if I try to go back, I need to disconnect from the internet during startup so the backup won't update itself.
Thanks for any insight you can offer on the files/startup process.

TNT HATES racism.
Maybe it will help if you whine about it some more.
