That would be cool, but very laggy, and it wouldn't be right for this style of game. I know you would be able to turn it off, but it would just be too laggy.
Also, Notch doesn't work with minecraft anymore.
No support.
Your argument is valid, but you could work on your critiquing.
You say that "it is optional" is the worst excuse. But this isn't true. I mean, it is overused, but it is true. I mean, imagine if someone suggested peaceful mode. A lot of people would say that is way too OP. So, to defend it, they would say it is optional. Then people like you would say that is a stupid reply.
My point it, that that isn't always a bad argument. It's just overused.
And in case anyone is wondering, I still don't support the idea, and I'm, not defending it. I just have some things to say to people who commented.
Do you mean that it will make minecraft realistic? I'm just saying this for your own good, that is probably one of the worst arguments you can use on here.
I agree with the part that "it's optional isn't bad here", but I disagree with the part about it not being right for this style of game. Compared to some of the shaders already in the game (like "wobble" and "flip"), this fits the game much more. It may be laggy, but it could be under Super Secret Settings with the other shaders, and would not be on by default. Also, I don't think that realism is "one of the worst arguments", but instead, as the "Please read this before making a suggestion" thread says: Gameplay>Realism.
I think that a small lens flare would look nice in Minecraft. A large lens flare would be too distracting.
Also, it is not against the rules to say that a suggestion is in a mod, but only to discount the suggestion because of that fact. Quoting the rules:
Existing Mod(s)
If a mod exists that provides part (or all) of the suggestions request linking to the mod is encouraged, however do not use the existence of a mod to dismiss the suggestion. Suggestions are primarily for vanilla Minecraft features.

Do Not Call A Sun Flare Lazry. I Got the idea from the shades. 100% Minecraft with these will look like a real minecraft.
The work going into a Lens Flare is not lazy. But adding a lens flare to the sun to make things look cool and epic is 100% a lazy design technique.

I don't think I've ever seen so many replies like, "this would be hard to code," or "this would cause lots of lag." Don't say things like this if you have no idea what you're talking about.
First of all, it wouldn't necessarily be a shader. Second, not all shaders are graphically intensive. You might be surprised to know that vanilla minecraft uses shaders to render blocks! Now, let's think about what it takes to render a lens flare. It's a few 2D overlays that simply change position based on what angle the player is looking in. The only requirement for them to be rendered is a direct path to the sun. Compared to some of the calculations, like block rendering and texturing, that minecraft makes your "potato with a monitor stuck in it" do thousands of times every second this is quite trivial.
The main problem I see with this is that it would be distracting, and that lens-flare is a pretty overused effect. I would turn it off not for graphics reasons but because it was annoying.
The lens flare wouldn't suit vanilla Minecraft, where everything is made from blocks. They often look nice, but they're better suited for mods. For that reason, no support.
Just imagine, when you look at the sun, a lens flare effect will appear and when you put your character or you look at a tree and you saw some sun light come in the jungle tree.
I have the belief that shaders flares adn similar stuff dont really fit the "simpleness" of minecraft. I saw people playing with shaders and they really dont fit IMHO, the graphical style just does not goes in with shadows and flares, dont know how to explain it better, the graphics are simple so i think that should stay simple as well.
you guys can turn it off. they nothing wrong with this idea. you guys are not even listen to me.minecraft would be better if in HD.I Also not even listen to the people who not support.

Saying that the idea if perfect does not make it true. And yes, we are. You are not.
minecraft would be better if it were in HD.
People like me without good computers disagree.
I Also don't/do not not even listen to the people who don't/do not not support.
If that were true you wouldn't even be saying that, because you wouldn't know that not everyone supported. Also, next time sit your butt down and put some effort into what you say. People will respect what you say more it you punctuate and spell properly.
That would make sense. . . If steve was a walking camera. First person games are about immersion, putting yourself into the game. We are not intended to be looking at the world through a lense, your eyes don't get lense flare (if they do you should probably see an optometrist).

Let the critics decide that.
